It simply means users can now discover the highest selling products (and categories like electronics, bakery etc) in their locality. More importantly, it will allow merchants and brands to study the demand and push special offers locality-wise accordingly which will play a crucial role in bolstering sales in the upcoming Diwali season.

Notably, the categories of products in the Grofers app has been expanded from groceries, fresh fruits and vegetables to cosmetics, mobiles and accessories, bakery items and flowers.

"With the latest app update (version 2.0), we bring a fresh experience that makes the process easier. Right on the home screen a user can discover the key merchants, trending products and product categories in their locality. Beyond that, adding products to your cart just takes a tap or two,” said Varun Khurana, Chief Technology Officer at Grofers.

Another new feature showcases products from different brands at cheap rates to make sure the brand stores are available to a wider cross section of the users. Existing brand stores on the app include stores for Haldiram’s, Magnum Ice Cream, Wildcraft, Prestige among others.
