The top 10 best performing mutual fund categories last month
- The top mutual fund categories, including corporate bond and equity funds have given an average return of 3.11% in May.
- According to the Association of Mutual Funds in India, mutual funds that invested in debt schemes or bond funds saw a 46% increase in investment to ₹63, 665 crore during May.
- The overall market performance during the month also recovered as the government allowed businesses to open to revive the economy.
Debt funds have performed better in May. According to the Association of Mutual Funds in India, mutual funds that invested in debt schemes or bond funds saw a 46% increase in investment to ₹63, 665 crore — higher as compared to ₹43,431 crore in April. This may be largely due to the measures undertaken by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
“RBI’s measures to deal with the trouble in a few debt funds have shown clear success in instilling confidence in investors as investments in debt funds in May are back to levels similar to before,” Harsh Jain, co-founder and COO of Groww told PTI.
