BJP spearheads NDA to majority mark in Assam

As of 12:30, the ruling NDA, spearheaded by the BJP, is leading in 62 seats.

Indian National Congress follows with 26 seats.

In contrast, INC the biggest opposition party to BJP was leading in 25 constituencies.

'BJP to Form Govt in Assam', Says Sonowal

Incumbent Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, who is leading by a good margin from Majauli, said "the BJP will form the government".

BJP close to the majority mark

The saffron party is making its way to the majority mark of 64 out of 126 assembly constituencies.

Incumbent CM leading in Majuli

Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal is contenting from Majuli. BJP has fielded CM Sonowal for the seat which he had won in 2016 as well.

Jalukbari is in focus

BJP’s fielded Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is leading with over 79 percent votes in Jalukbari. The constituency has 2,04,415 voters.

INC took a lead in Sarukhetri

Singer Kalpana Patowary is contesting for Sarukhetri seat for Asom Gana Parishad in alliance with the BJP Government. As of now, congress Jakir Hussain Sikdar is leading with 55 percent votes.

BJPs state president leading another key constituency

BJP's state president of Ranjit Kumar Das is leading with over 70 percent votes in Patacharkuchi. The seat has 1,44,190 voters and 208 polling booths.

Eyes on Dharmapur

Counting for Dharmapur has not started. It has 197 polling booths for 1,41,592 voters. Ratul Patowary of INC against Chandra Mohan Patowary of BJP on the key seat.
