Kartan Singh Tanwar from Aam Admi party, Satish Lohia from Congress and Brahm Singh kanwar from Bhartiya Janata Party will fight on Chhatarpur Assembly seat in Delhi Election 2020.

In the 2015 general elections for the Delhi Vidhan Sabha, Kartar Singh Tanwar won this seat and became the MLA. His vote score was 67645. He represented the AAP in this election. The runner up candidate of this election was BJP’s Brahm Singh Tanwar. The number of votes he secured was 45405. The vote margin between them was 22,240.

Chhatarpur state assembly constituency falls within the jurisdiction of the South Delhi parliamentary seat. Chhatarpur will see the general elections for the assembly in February 2020 as part of the 70 Vidhan Sabha seats of Delhi. The present five year term of the Delhi Vidhan Sabha is ending on 22 February 2020 and the upcoming elections will choose the MLAs who will represent these constituencies in the Delhi assembly that will be formed post elections. Chhatarpur state assembly seat has a total number of 184936 voters. This figure comprises 108543 men, 76388 women and 5 third gender electors. Chhatarpur assembly seat is a general seat open for contesting by all candidates. The seat came into existence from the 2008 elections.

In 2013 elections for the Delhi assembly, it was BJP’s Brahm Singh Tanwar who won this seat. He defeated the INC contestant Balram Tanwar. Their vote scores were 49975 and 33851 respectively. In 2008 elections, Balram Tanwar had become the MLA from this seat scoring 32406 votes on behalf of INC. He defeated the BJP contestant Brahm Singh Tanwar who got 27376 votes. From 2008, INC, BJP and AAP held this seat for one term each.
