Maharashtra’s Palghar Lok Sabha constituency comprises six assembly seats namely Dahanu, Vikramgad, Palghar, Boisar, Nalasopara, and Vasai. The last two are general seats. The first four namely Dahanu, Vikramgad, Palghar, and Boisar are reserved for ST contestants.

For the upcoming 2019 assembly elections, the BJP candidate for the Dahanu seat is Paskal Dhanare. From the Nalasopara seat, Pradeep Sharma of Shiv Sena will contest. BJP’s Vikramgad seat contestant is Hemant Sawara and from the Vasai seat Shiv Sena is fielding Vijay Patil.

The date of polling for the Maharashtra assembly constituencies is October 21, 2019 and votes will be counted on October 24, 2019. The results are likely to be announced on the same day by evening.

Adv. Chintaman Navasha Wanga of BJP is the sitting MP of the Palghar Lok Sabha seat. He secured 239,520 votes more than the runner up candidate Baliram Sukur Jadhav of BVA in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

In the 2014 general elections for the assembly of Maharashtra, BJP’s Dhanare Paskal Janya won from the Dahanu (ST) seat by securing 16700 votes more than Mangat Barkya Vansha of the CPM. From the Vikramgad (ST) seat, BJP candidate Savara Vishnu Rama scored 3845 more seats than the runner up SHS candidate Prakash Krushna Nikam and became the MP. The winner from the Palghar (ST) seat is Ghoda Krushna Arjun of SHS who secured 515 more votes than INC’s Gavit Rajendra Dhedya. The Boisar (ST) constituency winner was Tare Vilas Sukur of the BVA party who got 12873 votes more than the SHS candidate Kamalakar Anya Dalavi. Nalasopara winner was BVA’s Kshitij Hitendra Thakur who got 54499 votes more than Rajan Balkrishna Naik of BJP. From the Vasai constituency, Hitendra Vishnu Thakur of BVA was elected with a margin of 31896 votes more than the runner up IND candidate Vivek Raghunath Pandit (Bhau).
