  • As many as 26 candidates — who fought the 2015 Delhi Assembly Election — failed to get a ticket this time.

The BJP released the list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Elections in Delhi. It fielded 31 new faces. As many as 26 candidates — who fought the 2015 Delhi Assembly Election — failed to get a ticket this time.BJP might go to the polls without any CM candidate. The party earlier said it will decide the CM candidate after poll results are out.

BJP announced the names of only 57 candidates against a total of 70 vidhan sabha seats. Hence, candidates for 13 lok sabha seats — Burari, Nangloi Jat, Rajouri Garden ,Hari Nagar, Delhi Cantt, New Delhi, Kasturba Gandhi, Mehrauli, Sangam Vihar, Kalkaji, Krishna Nagar, Shahdara, Seema Puri — are not announced yet.

BJP’s CEC meet took place yesterday under Amit Shah’s leadership. According to BJP Delhi Chief Manoj Tiwari, the party has announced 11 SC nominations and 4 women nominations.
