Gupta had said that he is confident of a win for the BJP. In the last assembly elections, Gupta was one of the three BJP candidates to manage to win. He had defeated AAP’s CL Gupta by 5,000 votes.

“This time the BJP government will definitely be formed. Modiji has done a lot of work in the country,” said Gupta.

According to reports, Gupta has assets worth ₹1.48 crore. Credited to have turned Rohini into a model municipal unit, Gupta’s foray into politics goes back to his student days. He was a student leader in Delhi university.

Almost all the exit polls predicted a comfortable victory for the Aam Aadmi Party. The exit polls say that AAP could win 48-68 seats out of the 70 seats in Delhi, while the BJP could bag 11-19 seats. The minimum seats needed to form a government is 36.

The AAP government has tackled various issues close to the middle class like - education, water and power supply and more. However, the BJP too had stepped in to promise homes to slum dwellers - which became a bone of contention between Modi and Kejriwal governments.
