Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg felt good as hell meeting the Grammy-nominated pop star Lizzo on the set of "CBS: This Morning."

Buttigieg and Lizzo both appeared on the show Thursday morning, rounding out a big year for both Midwesterners.

Buttigieg has rocketed from being the little-known 37-year-old mayor of South Bend, Indiana to a top-tier Democratic presidential candidate expecterd to have a strong showing in the first two primary contests.

Meanwhile, Lizzo became a household name with her breakout hits "Truth Hurts," "Juice," and "Good As Hell." The Minnesota singer is the most-nominated artist going into next year's Grammys, and was recently honored as Time Magazine's entertainer of the year for 2019.

When co-host Gayle King asked Buttigieg what three words described him at that moment, he responded, "Standing near Lizzo, right now!" The singer described herself as "glamorous, talented, and bootiful!"

King then asked Buttigieg, "Have you taken any DNA tests recently?. The question is a reference to a popular lyric from Lizzo's "Truth Hurts."

In line with his squeaky-clean image, Buttigieg replied, "Yes, I'm 100% that nominee to lead the future," to laughter. The actual lyric is, "I just took a DNA test, turn out I'm 100% that b----"

"This is has never happened before, the mayor and Lizzo in the same room- I love it!" King said.

At a later fundraiser, Buttigieg joked that Lizzo "was very happy to see me once she pieced together that I was Chasten's husband," referring to his spouse who is big a Lizzo fan and internet star in his own right.
