U.S. President Trump departs for travel to Georgia at the White House in Washington

President Donald Trump's own staffers are concerned about his mental capabilities, according to the forthcoming book "A Warning," written by an anonymous senior Trump administration official.
In the book, the author - who still works in the administration - expresses dire concerns that Trump is unfit for office and dangerous. The same official also wrote an anonymous op-ed in The New York Times in September 2018 titled, "I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration."
They also claim in the book, which was recently obtained and written about by the Washington Post, that Trump's own staffers are worried about the president's mental state.
"I am not qualified to diagnose the president's mental acuity," they write, according to the Post.
"All I can tell you is that normal people who spend any time with Donald Trump are uncomfortable by what they witness. He stumbles, slurs, gets confused, is easily irritated, and has trouble synthesizing information, not occasionally but with regularity. Those who would claim otherwise are lying to themselves or to the country."
As of now, however, the reports of Trump's apparent mental decline are nothing more than unsubstantiated rumors. The author refuses to identify themself, apparently has no medical qualifications to speak of, and lacks the necessary training to diagnose or even guess at what mental and/or neurological conditions a person may have.
Furthermore, no other administration officials have ever come out on the record raising concerns about Trump's mental and neurological faculties in the entire time Trump has been president.
The closest comparison is George Conway, the husband of senior White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, who has publicly tweeted and written that he believes Trump is a narcissist and has other mental deficiencies. Conway is also not a doctor.
"A Warning" by Anonymous is set to be published on November 19, 2019 by Twelve Books, which part of Hachette Book Group.
