Politico told employees to watch out for strangers trying to enter their office after they published a leaked draft opinion that suggests the Supreme Court is set to overturn Roe v. Wade, The Daily Beast reported.

On Monday, the news outlet published a bombshell document that suggests SCOTUS plans to reverse the 1973 decision that legalized abortion across the country.

The report has sparked nationwide protests and prompted outrage from Democrats and pro-choice advocates.

In an email sent to staffers on Tuesday — seen by The Daily Beast — Politico's Chief Talent Officer Traci Schweikert said new security measures would be "proactively" put in place as a result of the scoop.

The report does not specify what kind of security measures had been set up. One anonymous source told The Daily Beast that the measures are only precautionary and not in response to any specific threat.

In addition to the safety precautions, the email also urged all employees to be on alert for any potential threats and to delete private information from their social media accounts.

"Be aware of anyone accessing our elevators with you and the possibility of 'tailgating' to your floor," Schweikert said in the email, according to The Daily Beast.

"Your safety and well-being are of utmost importance," she added, as per The Daily Beast.

The leak of the draft opinion is unprecedented in modern history. A draft opinion has never been released before a final decision was made.

Politico did not reveal how it obtained the 98-page draft opinion, written by Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr., saying only that it received the document from "a person familiar with the court's proceedings."
