LIVE RESULTS: North Carolina and Kentucky hold mayoral primaries

Major cities in Kentucky and North Carolina are holding mayoral primaries on Tuesday night along with key Senate, gubernatorial, congressional, and state legislative primaries taking place across the nation.

In North Carolina, incumbent Mayors Vi Lyles and Nancy Vaughn are seeking reelection to lead the cities of Charlotte and Greensboro, respectively.

And in Kentucky, a slew of Democratic candidates are seeking the nomination for the mayor's office in Louisville to replace term-limited outgoing Mayor Greg Fischer.

Incumbent Mayor Linda Gorton is also seeking reelection to the mayor's office in Lexington, Kentucky in a nonpartisan primary.

Polls closed in Kentucky at 6 p.m. ET and in North Carolina at 7:30 p.m. ET.
