Amazon's online supermarket project Amazon Pantry comes to India

As of now, the project has only been started in certain areas of Hyderabad; however, a nationwide expansion is planned, depending on the experience.
The service allows customers to fill a box with up to 15 kg of products which they can buy at the lowest prices, and get delivered to their homes the very next day, paying a mere shipping charge of Rs 20.

Saurabh Srivastava, Amazon India director of category management - consumables, told ET that the format has been modified to suit the Indian customers. These changes include Amazon Pantry being accessible to all Indian customers, while in the global format, only Amazon Prime customers can make use of these services.

Other than this, Amazon India will be delivering the Pantry orders the next day, while it 2 to 4 days in overseas markets, like US, UK, Japan, Germany etc.
