McDonald's is the king of fast-food breakfast, according to customers

We asked readers which chain had the best breakfast, and McDonald's won by a landslide.

McDonald's franchisee Herb Peterson invented the McMuffin in 1972. It was an instant hit, making McDonald's the de-facto boss of fast-food breakfast. Since then, other brands have forayed into the Golden Arches' hallowed territory - but to little avail.

This summer, we asked more than 3,000 readers about their habits, preferences, and opinions regarding the fast-food chains they'd visited in the last six months.

Rankings were determined by measuring the percentage of visitors who'd eaten at a given chain in the last six months and who said the chain was the best or worst at something. By using percentages to determine rankings, we were able to include regional chains.

We asked readers which chain had the best breakfast, and McDonald's won by a landslide. Chick-fil-A, surprisingly, got zero votes from its fans. According to our readers, here are the six fast-food chains that serve the best breakfast.
