Samsung is in the process of firing 1,000 employees from its India operation as a part of its ‘cost rationalisation programme.’ 150 have already been let go so far and the entire process is expected to be completed by October this year.
The price competition from Chinese players like Xiaomi and OnePlus dethroned Samsung’s dominance in the country and has an impact on its profit margins, which is why the aim to of the cost rationalisation programme is to increase the profitability of Samsung’s operations.
