Most recently, a 20-year old in Delhi snatched an iPhone in order to make good quality TikTok videos. In another part of the country, a woman killed herself by drinking poison after her husband scolded her for using the video sharing mobile app. A few days, a boy was shot dead while posing for a TikTok video.

The mobile app might not be banned in India anymore but it is unable to escape the slew of disturbing incidents being attributed to it.

According to doctors, ‘digital addiction’ is a by product of not striking a balance between work, life, indoor and outdoor recreation. Users suffering from digital addiction are also devoid of sleep affecting their decision making capabilities.

Samir Parikh with Fortis Healthcare recommends that adults should undergo at least four hours of digital detox a week — where they don’t use their phone or any other gadget. If those four hours are difficult to survive, then you may have a problem.
