To raise awareness and funds for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Tennessee that treats cancer in children.

Seats

All four seats on the spacecraft were purchased by billionaire Jared Isaacman, 38, founder of Shift4 Payments.

The mission will be commanded by Jared Isaacman, who is also an accomplished jet pilot.

The crew members are Jared Isaacman, Mission Pilot Dr. Sian Proctor, Medical Officer Hayley Arceneaux, and Mission Specialist Chris Sembroski.

Launch

The SpaceX spacecraft will be launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on September 15.

Spacecraft

Space X’s Crew Dragon will be used during the mission, which can carry up to 7 passengers to and from Earth orbit, and beyond.

Journey

The spacecraft will orbit the Earth for three days before splashing into the Atlantic Ocean.

Distance from Earth

It will orbit the Earth at a distance of 575 kilometres, which is higher than the International Space Station at 408 kilometres.
