Spread good vibes
Working for eight straight hours is difficult. You need some rest. And how do you get that? Keep aside social media and gossips. Walk to a colleague whose desk demands cleaning and arranging of stuff. Do it yourself. Someday clean up your own desk yourself instead of depending on the office boy. Some colleagues will start following you.
Watch happy videos on Youtube
In some offices, accessing Youtube is banned. But in most offices, it is allowed. Take advantage of this situation. Watch a motivational video at lunch. This will help you to rediscover yourself and most importantly boost you to work in the second half. Read some good blogs on happiness. There are many – Positivity Blog and Robinsharma.com.
I am sure, you would feel lighter and better.
Smile everytime you make eye contact
In office you come across many people who you are just acquainted with. Today onwards start exchanging smile. The moment you enter your office, smile at the security guard, then proceed to the cafeteria and smile to the guy at the counter. Say a hello to the person next to you in elevator. Try this. The feeling is amazing, we assure.
Chitchat with a colleague to begin the day-16
For most people office is a boring place. But for successful people, it’s not. You need to do something that makes you happy. The moment people sit at the workstation they switch on their boring mode. That’s the worst habit. You may have taken ‘going digital’ slogan of the Prime Minster way too seriously.
This needs to go. Make more human contacts at the beginning of the day. Your mood will surely change. Talk to your colleagues. Even if you don’t interact much, at least say a ‘Hello’ to everyone in your bay.

And some days you just need a pat on your back to be happy. If you have a tough assignment ahead of you, put bait before yourself. “I’ll finish this and get a Starbucks coffee’. Or something like ‘If I get a plan finalized by the management, I’ll buy a key chain from Chumbak.’
Trust me, these small pats actually help. But make sure you don’t make it a habit. Surprise factor and spontaneity need to be your life.
Start with some kindness
You must be knowing that kindness fetches the maximum happiness. Don’t believe? When you go to the breakout area, get a cup of coffee for your colleague. No there is no harm in being this kind and people won’t say anything. Feel uncomfortable? Do this twice a week. Or start a trend by bringing coffee for colleagues and let others follow you. That’s how you spread happiness.
