First and foremost, you should know that the Charmin RollBot is a cute little cartoon bear on wheels.

Atop its little bear head sits your toilet paper roll — the idea is that RollBot brings you that salvation directly.

But how do you alert your emergency toilet paper robot? Via smartphone, of course. After RollBot receives an activation via Bluetooth, it begins its rescue mission.

What kind of toilet paper robot would RollBot be if it couldn't navigate around your home? To that end, RollBot uses infrared sensors so that it can 'see' enough to navigate to you.

And yes, of course, RollBot brings you toilet paper. That's the only thing it does, in fact. It is a robot designed for a single use: to bring toilet paper to people stranded on toilets without toilet paper.

That said, RollBot must be loaded with toilet paper in advance of an emergency. If you've run out and forgot to restock your RollBot, I'm afraid you're out of luck.

There's no price or release date for RollBot, nor is it clear if it will ever be released as a consumer product. Charmin calls RollBot a "conceptual prototype." Check out the RollBot in action in this brief video:
