Snapdeal wants to bank on the home services category as well and is piloting it in four cities.

As its rivals are foraying into the home service sector, Snapdeal is launching it across Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai and Pune on a 40-day pilot basis.
“Home-services is an interesting space and we will decide on the business model which works best for us," said Rahul Taneja, VP of category management at Snapdeal.

Presently, Snapdeal will offer services such as carpentry, plumbing, pest control and installation services.

As per reports, the home services category has a huge potential to grow and saw large investments last year.

Meanwhile, Sulekha and JustDial have also revamped themselves to give an app-based on-demand service to its customers.
