Someone claims to be selling a lightly used Tesla Model 3 for $150,000 on Craigslist
A Model 3 owner appears to be taking advantage of the massive demand for Tesla's first mass-market car.
A person claims to be selling a lightly used Model 3 for $150,000 on Craigslist, Electrek first reported. It's a Premium Model 3, meaning it has 310 miles of range, a panoramic glass roof, and upgraded sound system, according to the post.
A Premium Model 3 typically falls in the mid-$50,000 range, so a buyer would be shelling out three times the traditional asking price to cut the line. Still, the poster writes that he/she isn't really sure how to price the car, so there might be some flexibility.
The car has been driven just over 2,000 miles and "meets all of the hype," the post reads.
A base Model 3 starts at $35,000, but Tesla is currently only producing Premium versions of the sedan. As of August, Tesla had secured 455,000 reservations for the car. Those who order a Model 3 today will have to wait until at least mid-2018 for delivery.
Reservations holders, however, may not receive the car at the date Tesla originally promised. Tesla only produced 260 Model 3 sedans in the third-quarter; it had initially planned to produce 1,500 cars in September. Tesla said the slow churn out was due to "production bottlenecks" that it's now working to fix.
