Karthik reportedly had set himself a target of an ‘India comeback’ as he joined RCB in this IPL season.

He said, “I am very happy. I am very satisfied. This is my most special comeback because a lot of people had given up on me.”

IPL 2022

Karthik was given the finisher’s role, and many analysts believe he was a key reason behind RCB’s run into the playoff this year. He has displayed consistant performance this year, by scoring 287 runs in 14 matches with an impressive strike rate of 191.33.

Overall IPL journey

Karthik started his IPL journey in 2008 and has a career tally of over 4,300 runs in 227 matches with a strike rate of 132.55.

T20 international

In his career span of almost two decades, he has just played 32 T20I matches and scored 399 runs with a decent average of 33.25 for his position.

Test

The 36-year-old player holds an excellent record tally in test format with 1,025 runs in 26 matches. He has so far scored seven 50s and one 100 in test matches.

Karthik stands at the 31st position in the list of most runs in a career without scoring a hundred in ODI. He has an overall tally of 1,752 runs in 94 matches with an average of 30.20.
