Ahead of India’s clash with England, Afghanistan will take on South Africa in the first semifinal. Rain has been a concern in the second leg of the tournament and both the semi-finals could get affected by rain.
The India vs England semifinal is scheduled to take place on June 27 at 8 PM Indian time, which is 10:30 AM local time in Guyana where the match is being held.
As per AccuWeather, it is expected to rain starting from 10 am on June 27, with a 61% probability of rain, which increases to 68% at 11 am. There is an 88% chance it will rain during the morning, which might also impact the game.
While there is a reserve day for the South Africa vs Afghanistan semifinal, there is no reserve day for the India vs England semifinal.
Instead of a reserve day, a provision of an additional 250 minutes has been made for the India vs England semifinal.
If the match is washed out without a single ball being bowled or no result being possible even with the additional time, India will move on to the final of the T20 World Cup as they are on top of the Group 1 table while England is in second position of Group 2.
