The Indian Premier League (IPL), which is one of the most celebrated sports leagues in the world, kick-started on March 26, 2022. The final tournament will be played on May 29.

Keeping the COVID-19 scenario in mind, the 15th edition of the IPL is being played in a bio-secure environment at a single hub to avoid air travel which is considered a major threat to the spread of COVID-19 infection, which can affect the players and other members.

As two new teams — Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans — also added to the list, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has increased the number of matches to 70 this season.
