IPL 2023 season is generating a lot of excitement, especially since it may mark the final appearance of several players. Notable personalities such as Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo have already declared their retirement from the league and are transitioning to coaching roles with their respective teams. Let’s look at five players who might play their final IPL season.

MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings)

MS Dhoni has participated in 236 matches in his IPL career, scoring 5004 runs with an average of 39.09. He has also hit 24 half-centuries, with his highest IPL score being 84 not out. In addition, MS Dhoni has hit 347 fours and 232 sixes throughout his IPL career.

Amit Mishra (Lucknow Super Giants)

During the 2023 auction, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) surprised everyone by acquiring the services of veteran Indian leg-spinner Amit Mishra at his base price of 50 lakhs. The 40-year-old will now return to the tournament after a gap of three years.

David Warner (Delhi Capitals)

In place of the injured Rishabh Pant, David Warner will take over the captaincy of Delhi Capitals for IPL 2023. Warner, one of the league's leading run-scorers, is expected to compete in his last season in the tournament.

He has hit four centuries and 56 half-centuries, with his highest score being 126 runs. In addition, he has hit 591 fours and 216 sixes in his IPL career. The Delhi franchise acquired David Warner for Rs 6.25 Cr in the IPL Auction 2023.

Piyush Chawla (Mumbai Indians)

With 165 IPL games to his credit, Piyush Chawla, the 34-year-old spinner, has a wealth of experience to offer any team he plays for. He has played 159 matches in his IPL career so far, taking 157 wickets.

Shikhar Dhawan (Punjab Kings)

Shikhar Dhawan boasts an impressive IPL career with 207 matches played, 6284 runs scored, and an average of 35.11. He has also hit two centuries and 47 half-centuries, with the highest IPL score of 106 not out. So far, the left-handed opener has smashed 707 fours and 136 sixes in his IPL career.

The 2023 edition of the Tata IPL began on March 31 with great excitement and will run until May 28. As with the previous year, ten teams will participate in this season, and a total of 74 matches will be played over 52 days.
