Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir – IPL 2023

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Virat Kohli and Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir got into a verbal spat after RCB defeated LSG during IPL 2023. The incident also involved Afghanistan’s Naveen-ul-Haq, who plays for LSG.

Not the first incident involving the duo

The verbal spat during IPL 2023 is not the first time Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir have lost their cool on the field.

Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir – IPL 2013

Exactly 10 years ago, during IPL 2013, RCB skipper Kohli and KKR skipper Gambhir had a war of words after Kohli was dismissed for 35 runs. What began with Kohli replying to KKR fielders ended up in an ugly spat between the two Delhi boys.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni

CSK’s Mahendra Singh Dhoni, often called “Captain Cool” for his calm nature, lost his cool and entered the field to argue with the umpires during IPL 2019. The incident occurred during CSK’s match against Rajasthan Royals.

Harbhajan Singh and S Sreesanth

One of the most infamous incidents of the IPL was when Mumbai Indians’ Harbhajan Singh slapped Punjab’s S Sreesanth during IPL 2008. Harbhajan was handed a 11-match suspension following the event.

Kieron Pollard and Mitchell Starc

Another incident that caused a lot of tension on the field was when Kieron Pollard and Mitchell Starc were involved in a verbal spat on the field in IPL 2014. After Starc threw the ball at Pollard, the latter threw the bat at him.

Sourav Ganguly and Shane Warne

Sourav Ganguly and Shane Warne engaged in a verbal fight in the inaugural edition of IPL in 2008 after Warne gave Ganguly a send-off after being dismissed. Both the players were fined 10 percent of their match fees for the incident.
