Colin Kaepernick may be getting another shot in the NFL.

The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback - who was blackballed from the league after kneeling in protest of police brutality during the pregame national anthem - recently hosted representatives from seven NFL franchises for a workout in an attempt to find his way back onto a roster.

Illinois was the most supportive state when it came to Kaepernick rejoining the NFL. Perhaps the tumultuous state of the Chicago Bears' quarterback situation of late has influenced local opinion, as one NFL executive who attended Kaepernick's workout described his arm talent as "elite" which would potentially make him a viable candidate to replace Mitch Trubisky under center.

Aside from Missouri, the rest of the Midwest is generally not amongst the most supportive of the free agent quarterback. Likewise, Georgia - the next-most supportive state behind Illinois - stands out in the South as one of the only pro-Kaepernick states below the Mason-Dixon line.

Oregon, Arizona, and Wyoming round out the top five most positive-minded states towards Kaepernick, while Missouri, Washington, New Mexico, Colorado, and California follow closely behind.

Whether or not recent events in the Kaepernick saga have landed the quarterback any closer to a spot on an NFL roster still remains to be seen, but having a fanbase actively supporting his acquisition certainly would not hurt his cause.
