Virat Kohli has crossed Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most ODI centuries, hitting his 50th century in the semi-final against New Zealand.

Kohli has also emerged as the highest run scorer in a single World Cup with 711 runs with one match to go, beating Sachin’s record of 673 runs, set two decades ago in 2003.

Kohli has also made a new record for most fifty plus scores in a World Cup with eight knocks crossing the mark in the 2023 World Cup.

Kohli has overtaken Ricky Ponting to become the third highest run scorer in ODIs with 13,794 runs. He is now behind Kumar Sangakkara with 14,234 runs and Sachin Tendulkar with 18,426 runs.

Mohammed Shami broke the record for the fastest 50 wickets in ODI World Cup, having reached the mark in just 17 matches, beating Mitchell Starc’s record of 19 innings. The next bowler in the list is Lasith Malinga with 25 matches.

Shami has also recorded the best bowling figures for an Indian in the World Cup and the fifth best bowling figure in the world. He took seven wickets, while giving just 57 runs in a high-scoring game. With this, he went past Asish Nehra’s 6/23 record made in 2003.

Shami is also the highest Indian wicket taker in World Cup history, having taken 54 wickets in 17 matches. He is at sixth position in the overall list with the potential to reach the third spot in the final if he picks 5 wickets.

Rohit Sharma has hit 51 sixes in 27 innings, beating Chris Gayle’s record for most sixes in ODI World Cup history. Gayle hit 49 sixes in 34 innings in his career.
