Sanju Samson, who missed out on the World Cup has also been excluded from the T20I squad for the home series against Australia. He has been consistently performing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Rajasthan Royals.

Yuzvendra Chahal, who was one of the leading wicket takers in IPL 2023 has also been excluded from the T20I series against Australia after being snubbed for the World Cup.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who leads the bowling attack for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL and has had a good domestic run this year, picking 16 wickets in seven matches is also missing from the T20I squad.

KS Bharat, considered a promising wicketkeeper has also been snubbed from the T20I squad against Australia. Ishan Kishan has been selected as the primary wicket keeper.

RCB’s pacer Harshal Patel, who came into the limelight after winning the purple cap in the 2021 IPL has also been snubbed for the T20I series against Australia after not being included in the World Cup squad.

Umran Malik, who impressed everyone with his pace in the IPL while playing for SRH has not been included in the T20I squad, with young players like Avesh Khan and Prasidh Krishna making it to the squad.

Rahul Tripathi, who bats at the top has not been included in the Indian T20I squad as players like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Verma have found place in the squad.

Riyan Parag, who has performed well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023, scoring seven half centuries has also been ignored for the T20I series against Australia. He had an average outing during the 2023 IPL.

Medium pacer Deepak Chahar, who has performed decently in T20Is and IPL has not been included in the T20I squad against Australia, with Mukesh Kumar and Avesh Khan receiving the call up.
