A day after
Tata SIA plans to function from Delhi, which will be its operational hub, and will operate across Mumbai, Goa, Patna, Chandigarh, Srinagar, Hyderabad and Bangalore in its first year. It is expected to begin with two flights a day to Mumbai, with one flight going onwards to Goa. The first phase will also have two flights a day to Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad.
Besides the metros, the airline will operate one flight a day to Srinagar, Patna, Chandigarh and Jammu. The airline plans to expand aggressively and it will be adding cities like Chennai, Pune, Lucknow, Varanasi, Jaipur, Kolkata, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Indore and Cochin within the first four years.
As per the proposed plan, the Delhi-Mumbai route will be the focal point of its operations and it is expected to have 49 weekly flights (or seven daily flights) by 2018.
The application also says that the airline will use the existing variant of the Airbus A320, as well as the NEO or the new engine option of the Airbus A320, which is more fuel-efficient.
