Samsung launched its latest budget device in the M series, dubbed as the Galaxy M21. The device is the successor of the Galaxy M20 and comes with several improvements, including a bigger battery, powerful chipset, improved cameras and more.

The Samsung Galaxy M21 competes with the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro in the budget segment. In this post, we will compare the two budget devices.

The Samsung Galaxy M21 will be available in Midnight Blue and Raven Black colour options from Amazon India starting from March 23. The company will announce the price of the 6GB RAM variant in the coming days.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro is being sold in flash sales and the next flash sale is scheduled for March 24. It will be available from Amazon India and Mi online store in Interstellar Black, Aurora Blue and Glacier White colour options.

Samsung Galaxy M21 vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro: Display

The Samsung Galaxy M21 features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a water drop notch that houses the selfie camera. The device has minimal bezels and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, it features a bigger 6.67-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a punch-hole in the center for the selfie camera. It has minimal bezels and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

In terms of display, the Galaxy M21 is ahead of the Redmi Note 9 Pro with its Super AMOLED display. The Redmi Note 9 Pro features a slightly bigger display with better protection.

In terms of design, the Galaxy M21 has opted for a basic design with a plastic body. The triple camera setup has been placed in the left corner and there is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro features a premium design. The device features a glass back and a rectangular camera module that is similar to the Galaxy S20 series.

Verdict

Both, the Samsung Galaxy M21 and the Redmi Note 9 Pro offer excellent value for money. While the Galaxy M21 features a better display and a bigger battery, the Redmi Note 9 Pro offers a premium design and better cameras.
