As smartphones are getting more ubiquitous, handset makers have hit upon an idea to fit bigger screens into sleeker phones. The result is foldable phones which are the next generation of new-age phones that came after touch phones. Many such handsets have been launched across brands in the last few months.

As it is a new technology and still in its early stages, foldable phones are currently exorbitantly priced and available in limited numbers. In spite of that Samsung and Huawei have reported that the sales of their foldable devices have been “good”.

India, which is a price sensitive market, has fewer such models. Samsung Galaxy Fold is the only foldable phone available in India and even this device was launched with little stock. At present, the device is out of stock and Samsung has added a ‘Notify Me’ button on the Galaxy Fold listing.
