The new iOS13 has been the talk of the town for quite a while now. It is because of the various cool new features that Apple has added to ease out our working. But to experience these features you must download the new OS first. The following features have made using the iPhone easier.

1. Dark Mode
Yes, it is finally here! To enable this mode

→Choose Dark under Appearances.

Your phone will switch to dark mode. There’s more! You can schedule it by tapping Automatic. Make it come at sunset, create a custom schedule or leave it enabled 24/7. Dark mode can be added to Control Center from Settings like you add Calculator or any other app. More than appearance, dark mode is useful because it saves battery in phones with OLED screens.

2. Block Spam Calls
Now you can easily block unknown caller-IDs on your iPhone by enabling this feature in Settings. Once enabled, unknown callers will be sent to voicemail. They can either hang up or leave a message. If they hang up you’ll still get a Missed Call notification.

3. Voice Control
Controlling your phone via voice commands is now possible, without Siri! To enable this

→In Settings, scroll down to Accessibility

→Select Voice Control

→Tap Set up Voice Control. You’ll be shown a set of commands that you can use. Now say the command and your phone obeys.

You can also ‘Customize Commands’ to disable or enable various commands.

4. Extended Battery Life
Say Goodbye to battery troubles with new extended battery life feature.

→In Settings, scroll to Battery.

→In Battery Health, turn Optimized Battery Charging on.

With this, the iPhone will now learn your daily charging routine. And the phone won’t charge past 80% until you need to use it. No more will your year-old phones die after a few hours of use.

5. Use PS4 & Xbox Controllers
Gamers can now pair their PS4 & Xbox controllers with your iPhone.

→Hold down the PS and Share buttons until the light starts blinking.

→Press the Xbox button. Hold down the Connect for 3seconds.

→In Settings, turn on Bluetooth and pair your phone with the wireless controllers.

5. New Gestures

(i) Quickly browse pages by dragging the scroll-bar.

(ii) Triple-tap to select sentences and Quadruple-tap to select paragraphs.

(iii) Paste text by pinching down 3-fingers

(iv) Quickly select multiple emails and files by tapping with 2-fingers and dragging.

(v) You can tap the cursor to pick and drag it to where you want it to be.

(vi) Swipe left with 3-fingers to undo and right to redo

These gestures will soon be as easy as pinching to zoom.

6. Redesigned Photos App
The new Photos tap sorts your photos by year, month, day and all.

→Year: You’ll be shown highlights of each month and in that more from that day. Duplicates and screenshots and other miscellaneous items are hidden from view (visible in all photos).

→ Month: Holidays, trips and other significant events are automatically sorted and highlighted in the Months Tab.

→For You: It automatically organizes memories from past, suggests edits, and spotlight photos from contacts.

Search has also gotten smarter – You can now use multiple words to filter searches.

You can convert multiple Live Photos (taken within 1.5seconds of each other) into videos or single Live Photos into GIFs.

Adding multiple photos to a photo is more convenient. You can now see a live preview of effects on the photo. There are new effect controls as well: vibrance, warmth, sharpen, definition, noise reduction, Vignette.
