A vintage Macintosh floppy disk signed by Apple cofounder Steve Jobs and valued at $7,500 is up for auction

A Macintosh floppy disk signed by late Apple cofounder Steve Jobs is currently being auctioned for a little more than $5,000. It's the latest piece of memorabilia autographed by the iconic businessman to be put up for auction for thousands of dollars.

Bidding is currently taking place at the website RR Auction, which blog 9to5Mac first noticed. The current bid has reached $4,600 at the time of writing while the next bid is set at $5,060. The signed floppy disk has an estimated value of $7,500 according to the listing.

The floppy disk contains the Macintosh System Tools Version 6.0 software. The post notes that the floppy disk is certified and describes it as being in "fine condition."

That $7,500 estimated value might sound expensive, but it's far from being the priciest auction item signed by Jobs. A "Toy Story" movie poster signed by the former Apple CEO went up for auction with a minimum bid of $25,000 in August.

A commemorative plaque with Jobs' signature was valued at $15,000 when it went up for auction earlier this year, and a copy of Macworld that Jobs autographed was valued at $10,000. Both of those auctions also took place at RR Auction.
