Google is urging Chrome users to update the browser on their computers and laptops right away. The update alert comes after seven high-severity vulnerabilities were discovered in Google Chrome.

Google has highlighted the vulnerabilities in its blog post but has provided little information as to how they can be exploited by cybercriminals.

“Access to bug details and links may be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix. We will also retain restrictions if the bug exists in a third-party library that other projects similarly depend on, but haven’t yet fixed,” the company stated in its post.

The security concerns have prompted the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security (CISA), a US federal agency, to issue a notification urging users to update the Chrome browser.

Of the seven vulnerabilities discovered and disclosed, two were discovered by Manfred Paul, who received a bounty of $21,000 for each discovery.

This comes less than a month after a zero-day vulnerability was patched by Google. This security issue allowed remote attackers to completely compromise the vulnerable system.

Zero-day refers to vulnerabilities that have been only recently discovered.
