Sony launches its most premium headphones WH-1000XM5 in India

Today, Sony has launched its next-gen and most premium headphones, WH-1000XM5, in India for ₹34,990. Sony’s WH-1000XM5 headphones were unveiled in global markets back in May, and now they have made their way to India.

These premium headphones from Sony are said to give a new immersive, distraction-free audio experience, with renowned noise cancelling and audio quality.

Sony’s WH-1000XM5 will lock horns with premium headphones like Jabra Evolve2 65 and Bose QuietComfort.

Price and availability

Sony has launched WH-1000XM5 for ₹34,990, but Sony India has announced a special pre-booking offer in which customers can pre-book WH-1000XM5 at a special introductory price of ₹26,990. The wireless over-ear headphones will be available in black and silver across all Sony Centers, major electronic stores, and e-commerce platforms in India.

Sony WH-1000XM5: Features

Sony has equipped WH-1000XM5 with its popular noise cancellation technology. As per the company, the headphones use two processors coupled with eight microphones to reduce noise, especially in the mid-high frequency range. Also, the headphones have a 30mm driver unit that enhances noise cancellation.

To enhance and give a more premium audio experience, Sony has used a carbon fibre composite material driver that improves high-frequency sensitivity for more natural sound quality.

Additionally, the Sony WH-1000XMS headphones are 360 Reality Audio Certified, which means you can enjoy a custom immersive audio experience with personalisation.

The headphones use Sony’s precise Voice Pickup technology that uses four beamforming microphones and an AI-based noise reduction structure to reduce the wind and surround noise while voice calling.

Besides this, headphones can be paired with two devices simultaneously. You can also quickly switch between devices with just the touch of a button. Also, headphones come with Swift Pair technology, which allows you to connect headphones to your Windows 11, 10, laptop or PC.

The WH-1000XM5 comes with 30- hours of battery life, and it is said to give 3 hours of playback time in just 3 minutes of charge. It comes with a handy collapsible carrying case, letting you easily take your headphones wherever you travel.

At last, these over-ear headphones come equipped with synthetic soft-fit leather material that fits snugly around the head, taking the pressure off your ears and blocking out external noise.
