The India-China standoff along the border has escalated tensions between the two countries. For weeks now, the anti-China thought has been rising in India – from deleting Chinese apps to boycotting products Made in China.

But this has also led to a lot of confused Indians questioning what’s really made in India. So, the latest development from the tech world clears the air – the new app in town will help you decode which product is actually made in India.

Interestingly, the app is called ‘Made in India’. Released on June 12, through the app you can scan the barcode of the product to check if it is manufactured in India.


“The app shows the origin of the product, so even if it is manufactured in India but the company is registered in China, the app will show that it’s a made in China product,” Mohit Jain, a software engineer who built the app in less than a week, told Business Insider.



“Scan the barcode of the product to find out if your product is manufactured in India or not. You can search and know the details of the products manufactured in over 115 countries,” says the app on the playstore.

A new update for the app will include a Hindi version, said Jain.
