Twitter has slapped a new label on President Trump's tweets, addressing his false claims that he won the presidential election.
"Official sources called this election differently," the new label reads, linking to a Nov. 10 post that declares former Vice President Joe Biden the winner. Between Thursday and Monday, the label has been applied to five of the President's tweets.
The move follows larger efforts by Twitter to crack down on election misinformation. In October, the company announced that it would be applying a new "civic integrity policy" on its platform, with the goal of preventing election interference, including voter suppression and premature declarations of victory.

Trump has repeatedly attempted to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the election, from decrying mail-in voting to falsely claiming that polling places were corrupt. To date, Twitter has labeled many of Trump's tweets about election fraud as "disputed" and "potentially misleading."

In reality, Business Insider and Decision Desk HQ have projected the Joe Biden has won the election, with 306 votes in the electoral college to Trump's 232. In Georgia, Biden beat Trump by a margin of about 14 thousand votes, and in Pennsylvania, Biden beat trump by a margin of about 69 thousand votes, according to Business Insider and Decision Desk HQ.
In addition, Twitter has flagged over 25 of Trump's tweets as disputed or potentially misleading since Friday.
Twitter did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment.
"We remain vigilant and will continue working to protect the integrity of the election conversation on Twitter," the company wrote in a blog post on Thursday. "We will continue to research, question, and change features that may incentivize or encourage behaviors on Twitter that negatively affect the health of the public conversation.
Between Oct. 27 and Nov. 11, the platform labeled about 300,000 tweets for content that was disputed or potentially misleading, the platform said.
