Online learning platform Internshala jointly with the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) hosted a national event, on Sunday to celebrate Internship day 2019.

The initiative was to honour the colleges and organisations with the best internship culture, that has helped students capitalise on the theoretical concepts with practical exposure.

“Anything and everything outside the classroom, is internship,” Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE said. Industries are making use of interns as their workforce to bring speed and innovation to their projects.

The top three organisations include Times Internet, startup Out of the Box Solutions and Today’s Kalam Foundation, an NGO that focuses on imparting quality education in India.

The selections are on the basis of internship profiles offered by the organisations, stipend range and learning opportunities for interns. Sarvesh Agrawal, CEO of Internshala earlier told Business Insider India that “internships are finally becoming mainstream phenomenon and are no longer restricted to select few campuses and companies.”
