Mercedes' highest-volume model just got a huge makeover and tons of tech - tour the new C-Class sedan

The 2022 C-Class is Mercedes-Benz's latest, all-new compact sedan.

The integrated starter-generator and 48-volt electrical system is a standard feature in C 300 models.

The EQ boost gives the car up to 20 extra horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque.

The entirety of the upcoming C-Class range will have four-cylinder engines.

All C-Class models will also come with the automaker's 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission.

The C 300 and C 300 4Matic will have 2.0-liter engines, good for a claimed 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

Mercedes estimates the C 300 and C 300 4Matics to hit 60 mph from a stop in 5.9 seconds.

Competitors include the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, Lexus IS, Volvo S60, and Cadillac CT5.

The interior borrows heavily from the new S-Class flagship sedan.

You'll recognize the dual-screen setup.

There are a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch center touchscreen display.

The car's driver assistance system includes route-based speed adaptation, active stop-and-go assist, and active blind spot assist.

There's also a built-in dashcam, though you need the Augmented Video for Navigation option in order to use it.

The center display screen is tilted toward the driver by six degrees for ease of access.

It looks like a Tesla in there.

The steering wheel has touch-control buttons.

Optional ambient lighting gives the cabin a colorful glow.

No pricing for the new C-Class was announced, but Mercedes said the cars will arrive in US dealerships early next year.
