  • Multiple YouTube drama accounts reported that Morgan Adams unfollowed Jeffree Star on Monday, less than two days after Shane Dawson posted a rant that included criticisms of Star.
  • Adams is a frequent collaborator of Dawson's and is his soon-to-be sister-in-law, since her brother Ryland Adams and Dawson got engaged in March 2019.
  • Dawson and Star have created several high-profile YouTube and makeup collaborations, but Dawson's since-deleted rant inspired murmurs about whether a new "Dramageddon" is approaching.

In his since-deleted rant about the beauty community and his departure from it, Shane Dawson wrote that Jeffree Star "will always be family" to him. But Dawson's actual family seems to disagree. The famous YouTuber's soon-to-be sister-in-law Morgan Adams, who has appeared on Dawson's channel numerous times, unfollowed Star on Instagram Monday — less than two full days after Dawson posted his lengthy, controversial statement.

Between the aggressive tone of Dawson's rant, his criticisms of Star in it, and the recent rehashing of the "Dramageddon 2.0" feud between Star, James Charles, and Tati Westbrook, the YouTube drama community is prepared to face another beauty wars sequel in the form of "Dramageddon 3.0." Adams hitting the "unfollow" button, as "tea" channel Sebastian Williams first reported, could be a signal that tensions are about to boil over.

The web application "doesfollow" also shows that Adams unfollowed Star on Twitter on Monday — but Star still follows Adams on both platforms.

Dawson posted and deleted a rant over the weekend that includes some criticisms of Star, leading to "Dramageddon 3.0" rumors

In his rant, Dawson denied having anything to do with influencing Westbrook's now-infamous "Bye Sister" video that kicked off the events termed "Dramageddon 2.0," which included Star tweeting that Charles was a "danger to society" and Star privately texting Charles with specific accusations of molestation and sexual misconduct that Charles denied in his response video, "No More Lies."

After "No More Lies," the drama surrounding Charles and Westbrook's feud seemed to die down, but in April 2020, Star reignited his claims and said he still has a recording of "an alleged victim of James Charles" on his phone. On the same podcast where Star made those claims, he also stated that he thinks Charles mistakenly believes that Star and Dawson conspired to "ruin his life." While Star only brought up the claim to deny it, him acknowleding the conspiracy's existence nonetheless fueled suspicion over a possible "Dramageddon 3.0," in which the full extent of Star and Dawson's alleged manipulation of "Dramageddon 2.0" would theoretically be revealed.

That conspiracy has circulated in the YouTube drama community for months, and was supplemented by a few recent exposé videos about Star and Dawson. One of them, created by drama YouTuber Ashlye Kyle, was titled "I Was On Jeffree Star's Payroll." In it, she showed texts that Star had allegedly sent her about Charles and discussed how she was encouraged by Star to make negative videos about Charles during "Dramageddon 2.0."

Additionally, a beauty micro-influencer who formerly modeled for Star talked about how he was "manipulated" by Star and Dawson in a recent Instagram Live. That micro-influencer, Kameron Lester, said he overheard Dawson "cursing out" Charles in a FaceTime call with Star prior to Westbrook releasing "No More Lies."

The growing suspicions in the YouTube community led to Dawson's recent YouTube video announcement being swarmed with comments asking him to address the drama. So he did, in a controversial and since-deleted Twitter rant that only served to fuel the fire about a potential reckoning in the beauty community.

"The beauty gurus who are ALWAYS involved in scandals are ALL THE F---ING SAME. They are all attention seeking game playing egocentric narcissistic vengeful two faced ticking time bombs ready to explode," Dawson wrote in the statement. "Yes, jeffree is in that list of dramatic gurus (and he would admit that) and he will always be family to me and I love him despite those characteristics. He's VERY aware of the fact that I don't agree with many of the ways he approaches situations and I have been very honest with him about needing to make some changes. [sic]"

Upon deleting the rant, Dawson wrote that he was "too sensitive" for the backlash and would be leaving Twitter for a few months. He hasn't posted since about it, and neither have the other members of his friend group, who all still follow Star besides Adams.
