List of 108 generous Indians who donated more than ₹5 crore
The EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2022 has revealed a list of 108 philanthropists who donated more than ₹5 crore in FY22.

Number of generous donors increase
Over the last 5 years, the number of donors who have given more than ₹100 crore has grown from 2 to 15, and those giving over ₹50 crore has risen from 5 to 20.

This new tech co-founders increased their donations by four times
Nithin Kamath and Nikhil Kamath of Zerodha increased their donation by a whopping 300 percent to ₹100 crore during the year. At 36 years, Nikhil Kamath is the youngest philanthropist on the Hurun list.

Kamath brothers plan to donate ₹750 in coming years
The brothers have pledged a quarter of their wealth to philanthropy and have plans to give back ₹750 crore over the next three years.

Prithavi Raj Jindal & family of JSW Steel tripled their donation
Another generous family who increased their donation is Prithavi Raj Jindal & family of JSW Steel – who have donated 231 percent more in FY22 compared to last year

Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal increased his donation by 174 percent to ₹37 crore in FY22 from last year. Most of his donation was inclined towards education.

Most philanthropists contribute towards education
Indian industrialist including SP Oswal, Ratan Jindal, Bajranglal Taparia & Mahaveer Prasad Taparia, Sajjan Jindal, Sanjiv Goenka and Cyrus S Poonawalla & Adar Poonawalla have more than doubled their donation from last year towards education.

Vinod Kumar Agarwal of Agarwal Coal increased his contribution by 127 percent from last year to ₹25 crore in FY22.
