Ravi Shankar Prasad, who is now serving his second term at India’s Information and Technology Minister, has announced that one of his top priorities is going to be getting India’s Personal Data Protection, 2018 to Parliament as soon as possible.
Why you should care:
The government is currently working on certain amendments that it wants to make to bill. All in all, the implementation of the bill will mean two things for users. But, on the other hand, enforcement of the bill could mean that the government has more access to your data under the guise of ‘national security’.
