The 34-year-old Patel's impressive run at the Games ended with a fighting 7-11 5-11 6-11 loss to Zhou, a two-time gold medallist, in the women's singles summit clash which lasted 19 minutes. With this medal, Indian team opened its account at the Games. Deepa Malik, who is the current president of Paralympic Committee of India (PCI), was the first Indian woman to win a medal in the Paralympic Games when she had claimed a silver in shotput at Rio five years back. Patel, a wheelchair player, had also suffered a loss to Zhou, one of the most decorated para-paddlers of China, in her first group stage match earlier in the week. Up against an opponent, who has five Paralympic medals to her name including gold medals in singles at Beijing and London, Patel seemed to struggle as she couldn't execute her strategy and was left to do the catch up job. Zhou, a six-time World Championship medallist, didn't allow Patel, currently ranked 12th in her division, to find her angled returns and get into a rally. In the first game, Zhou broke off from 3-3 to move ahead. Patel tried to keep herself within touching distance with a superb serve at 5-7 and a forehand flick but the Chinese managed to earn the bragging right with a deep push at the baseline. The second game was a one-way traffic as Zhou jumped to a 7-1 lead early on. Patel narrowed it down to 4-7 but the Chinese soon grabbed a 2-0 lead. Pushed to the brink, Patel tried to script a recovery as she moved neck and neck with her opponent till 5-5 in the third game. But Zhou once again moved ahead and sealed the contest with a backhand shot. Patel, who was diagnosed with polio when she was 12 months old, had defeated world no 3 Miao Zhang of China 7-11 11-7 11-4 9-11 11-8 in the semifinal on Saturday. In the quarterfinal on Friday, Patel had defeated 2016 Rio Paralympics gold medallist and world number two Borislava Peric Rankovic of Serbia to assure herself a medal and script history. In para table tennis, classes 1-5 are for wheelchair athletes. Athletes in Class 4 category have fair sitting balance and fully functional arms and hands. Their impairment may be due to a lower spinal-cord lesion or cerebral palsy. Patel started playing the sport 13 years ago at the Blind People's Association at Vastrapur area of Ahmedabad where she was a student of ITI for people with disabilities. There, she saw visually impaired children playing table tennis and decided to take up the sport. She won her first medal in a competition while representing Rotary Club in Ahmedabad, where she is settled now after her marriage to Nikunj Patel, who has played junior cricket for Gujarat. Tokyo Paralympics: Paddler Bhavinaben Patel wins historic silver in women's singles table tennis

India's <keyword id="3486865" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nishad-Kumar" source="Orion">Nishad Kumar</keyword> clinched a silver medal in the men's <keyword id="75714" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="high-jump" source="Orion">high jump</keyword> T47 event in the <keyword id="6387644" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="paralympics" source="Orion">Paralympics</keyword> with an Asian record effort here on Sunday. The 21-year-old Kumar cleared 2.06m to win the silver and set an Asian record. American Dallas Wise was also awarded a silver as he and Kumar cleared the same height of 2.06m. Another American, Roderick Townsend, won the gold with a world record jump of 2.15m. Another Indian in the fray, Ram Pal finished fifth with a best jump of 1.94m. T47 class is meant for athletes with a unilateral upper limb impairment resulting in some loss of function at the shoulder, elbow and wrist. Hailing from Una in Himachal Preadeh, Kumar met with an accident at the age of eight that resulted in the loss of his right hand. <keyword id="137517" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vinod-Kumar" source="Orion">Vinod Kumar</keyword> won India's third medal on <keyword id="408358" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-Sports-Day" source="Orion">National Sports Day</keyword>, claiming a bronze in discus throw F52 event at the Tokyo Paralympic Games on Sunday, hurling the disc to 19.91 metres for an Asian record. The 42-year-old Vinod, who took up <keyword id="7275398" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="para-athletics" source="Orion">para-athletics</keyword> in his 30s, cleared 19.91 in the seated/standing discus throw event on his fifth effort. He finished third behind Poland's gold medallist Piotr Kosewicz (20.02m) and Croatia's Velimir Sandor (19.98). At one stage, the 42-year-old from Rohtak in Haryana was placed second before Sandor cleared 19.98 in his fifth throw to take the silver medal. Vinod, ranked sixth in the world, had started with 19.09 metres in his first throw before he managed to clear 19.81 in his second chance, clearly establishing his intent to fight for the medal. Vinod comes from a family of army men. His father got injured in the 1971 war. Vinod joined BSF but had to leave after suffering an injury in 2002 when he fell off a cliff in Leh leading to severe injuries to his legs. He was bed-ridden for close to 10 years. Vinod opened a shop near the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Rohtak and got interested in para-athletics watching Rio Paralympic Games coverage on television. Starting training under local coaches at the stadium near his house, Vinod, who is married and has two daughters aged seven and two, burst onto the scene in the 2018 and 2019 Nationals when he won bronze medals in the F53 discus throw. He was classified in the F52 category during his first international event at Handisport Open Para Athletics Grand Prix in Paris in 2019. Vinod stood fourth in the World Championships in Dubai which secured him a berth in Tokyo. This is his first medal in the Paralympics. Tokyo Paralympics: Vinod Kumar claims bronze in discus throw F52

<ul><li>Vijaya Diagnostic IPO is the second diagnostic lab chain to list publicly in recent times after <keyword id="11265915" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="krsnaa-diagnostics" source="Orion">Krsnaa Diagnostics</keyword>.</li><li>The IPO of the company will open on September 1 and close on September 3 with a price band of ₹522 to ₹531 per share.</li><li>The company aims to deepen its presence in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and is looking to acquire good diagnostic firms in eastern India to explore business opportunities there, said Sunil Chandra Kondapally, executive director at Vijaya Diagnostic in an interview with Business Insider.</li></ul>Vijaya Diagnostic, which is to launch its initial public offering (IPO) on Wednesday, is looking to acquire more diagnostics firms in eastern India to expand its business. The company has a strong presence in southern India in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and now looks to expand in some eastern states primarily through acquisition. The company offers a “one-stop solution” for pathology and radiology testing services through its 80 diagnostic centres and 11 reference laboratories across 13 cities and towns in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and in the National Capital Region and Kolkata. “We are a debt free company and due to our strong margin we also have liquidity on the balance sheet. We have built up a ₹250 crore cash on the book so priority is to use that corpus for the growth of the business. So we are definitely open for acquisition opportunities in any markets of interest,” said Sunil Chandra Kondapally, executive director at <keyword id="182111" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="vijaya-diagnostics" source="Orion">Vijaya Diagnostics</keyword> in an interview with Business Insider. The diagnostics company’s business model is different from that of similar listed diagnostics companies -- <keyword id="122279" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="metropolis" source="Orion">Metropolis</keyword> Lab, <keyword id="122277" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="dr-lal-pathlabs" source="Orion">Dr Lal PathLabs</keyword>. “Right from inception our focus has been to offer both radiology, pathology and imaging all under one roof so that the patient does not have to visit any other place. In that sense we are quite different as all our centres offer these services. 93% of our revenue comes from business-to-consumer (B2C) business whereas other players have more of [a] business-to-business (B2B) model,” added Kondapally. Further, the company is in hunt for diagnostics firms that have a similar kind of B2C business model with brand visibility. Vijaya Diagnostic Centre’s IPO is an entire offer for sale (OFS) from existing promoters of 3.56 crore equity shares. The company’s founder Dr. S. Surendranath Reddy will sell 50.98 lakh shares, Karakoram Limited will sell up to 2.94 crore shares and Kedaara Capital will sell partial stake of up to 11.02 lakh shares. The private equity investor and the promoter company are not exiting completely from the firm as post-issue Kedaara Capital will hold 10% stake in the company and the promoter will have 55% shareholding and remaining 35% will be available publicly for investors. Vijaya Diagnostic says it has a market share of 7% in its home market -- Andhra Pradesh, Telangana. Going forward, it looks to capture close to 20% of it. The market size of the business in both states is worth ₹5,100 crore, Kondapally said in the interview.
