The BCCI has set up an organising committee for ICC World Twenty20, which will be held in India next year. 
 
The World T20 tournament, which will be hosted by the BCCI, will held from March 11 to April 3, 2016. 
 <keyword id="2955406" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="BCCI-secretary-Anurag-Thakur">BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur</keyword> informed that MV Sridhar, general manager for cricket operations at BCCI as the tournament director while former Delhi Police commissioner Neeraj Kumar, who is the chief advisor security and ACSU of BCCI will be the director of Security and ACSU for the event. 
 
While Amrit Mathur is appointed as the principal coordinator, RP Shah will be the tournament manager finance. KVP Rao, manager - game development of the BCCI has been appointed as the manager for cricket operations while Nishant Jeet Arora, media manager of the BCCI, will be the tournament media manager. 
 
N Srinivasan's assistant Mayank Parikh has been nominated as manager - logistics and hospitality for the event. 
 
Professor Ratnakar Shetty has been appointed as an advisor to the committee.

BCCI gears up for 2016 ICC World T20, forms organising committee

A day after the Indian cricket board said that it will not be able to host the <keyword id="44040" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="T20-World-Cup">T20 World Cup</keyword>, the International Cricket Council (ICC) issued a statement confirming that the multi-nation tournament will be held in the United Arab Emirates (<keyword id="6358356" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="uae">UAE</keyword>) and <keyword id="62607" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="oman">Oman</keyword> from October 17 to November 14. "The <keyword id="6354756" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="bcci">BCCI</keyword> will remain the hosts of the event, which will now be held in Dubai International Stadium, the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Stadium, and the Oman Cricket Academy Ground, from 17 October to 14 November 2021," said a statement from ICC. The initial stage of the tournament will likely be held in Oman and a venue in UAE soon after the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 ends in the country. "Our priority is to deliver the ICC Men's T20 <keyword id="22177" type="SPORT" weightage="20" keywordseo="world-cup">World Cup</keyword> 2021 safely, in full and in its current window. Whilst we are incredibly disappointed not to be hosting the event in India, the decision gives us the certainty we need to stage the event in a country that is a proven international host of multi-team events in a bio-secure environment. We will work closely with the BCCI, the Emirates Cricket Board and Oman Cricket to ensure fans can enjoy a wonderful celebration of cricket," said Geoff Allardice, the acting ICC CEO, in a statement. The president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly, said that the Board would have been happier hosting the tournament in India. The USA will be making their tournament debut as co-hosts of the tournament beginning June 1. Part of the event, including the semifinals and finals, will take place in the Caribbean. Amul was named the Lead Arm sponsor of the USA national team at an event in New York. The World Cup opener will be played between USA and Canada on June 1. The Indian dairy behemoth with global footprints has sponsored cricket teams in the past as well including the Netherlands. Amul milk is also now being sold in the USA. USA recently beat Canada 4-0 in a bilateral series. We could not even get dot balls in because the pitch was obviously providing a big pace for the batsman to work with. The slower balls were not holding up as much. "These small little factors, as I said, it did make a massive difference, and as a team you need to understand what was the reality of the situation out there in the middle, and that's where those 20, 25 extra runs would have been good, but brilliant bowling in the first six (overs by Pakistan) did not allow us to get those extra runs." ICC World T20: Watch what the Indian cricket team has to say to its fans

The <keyword id="46227" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="international-cricket-council" source="Orion">International Cricket Council</keyword> (<keyword id="6355164" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ICC" source="Orion">ICC</keyword>) on Thursday confirmed that it will replace '<keyword id="10878" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="batsman" source="Orion">batsman</keyword>' with gender-neutral term '<keyword id="55002" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Batter" source="Orion">batter</keyword>' in all its playing conditions, starting with this month's men's <keyword id="44040" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="T20-World-Cup" source="Orion">T20 World Cup</keyword>, scheduled to be played in UAE and Oman. In September, the Marylebone Cricket Club announced it would be replacing the word 'batsman' with 'batter' in the Laws of Cricket. That change will now be reflected across all ICC playing conditions going forward. The ICC said over the past four years it has been moving away from the word "batsman", with "batter" implemented regularly in commentary and across the organisation's channels. ICC acting CEO Geoff Allardice said the MCC's decision to move to ‘batter' in the Laws of the game was one they 'welcomed'. "The ICC has been utilising the term batter for some time now across our channels and in commentary and we welcome the MCC's decision to implement it into the Laws of cricket and will follow suit with our playing conditions that are derived from the Laws," Allardice said in a statement. "This is a natural and perhaps overdue evolution of our sport and now our batters are gender-neutral in the same way as bowlers, fielders and wicket keepers," he added. Allardice also said that it's a small change but one that will have a significant impact on cricket being viewed as a more inclusive sport. "Of course language changes alone will not grow the sport, we must ensure that girls and boys who are inspired to play cricket have a fantastic, fun first experience and are both able to progress as cricketers without barriers," he said. For ICC Hall of Famer and former Australia star Lisa Sthalekar the move to 'batter' is a simple but important one in growing a sport that truly is for everyone. Unaware cricket was a sport played by women as a child, Sthalekar went on to become one of the finest players Australia has ever produced before making the step into commentary. Having grown up using the term 'batter' as a player, she stuck to the word when she stepped behind the microphone and remembers being told by a co-commentator in one of her earliest gigs that "batter was for fish." "We don't say ‘hey look at that fieldsman', we say ‘look at the fielder'. We don't say 'bowlsman', we say 'bowler'," she said to icc-cricket.com following the MCC decision. "So if there is a similar term to describe someone with a piece of wood in their hands, why wouldn't we follow suit?" According to ICC, it's worth noting that up until this century, the phrase 'fieldsman' was the accepted term with the MCC stepping in in 2000. Nowadays, it would be hard-pressed to find anyone saying 'fieldsman'. Sthalekar is well aware even with the ICC and MCC both moving permanently to ‘batter' that 'batsman' will still be heard on occasion in the media. "It's like a habit, it takes forever to get rid of it,'' she said. Lisa's thoughts were echoed by Allardice, who described the move as a "common-sense change". "Why not take a small step to ensuring we're a sport that doesn't exclude 50 per cent of the world's population with outdated language choices. Whilst some may have made lots of noise against this common-sense change, the majority of people within the game have welcomed the move," he said. ICC to replace 'batsman' with gender neutral term 'batter' in all formats

In an unexpected twist of events, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=ICC">ICC</a> has announced they'll shift the March 19 World Twenty20 match from Dharmshala to Kolkata at the last minute due to 'security concerns'. 
 
On Tuesday evening, Pakistan had earlier asked the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=ICC">International Cricket Council</a> (ICC) and the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Board+of+Control+for+Cricket+in+India">Board of Control for Cricket in India</a> (<keyword id="6354756" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="BCCI">BCCI</keyword>) to shift the match. 
	<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=David+Richardson">David Richardson</a>, CEO, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=ICC">ICC</a> said, "It's unprecedented and unfortunate that these concerns were raised by the government in recent times. Its too early for us to consider disciplinary action against the State association."

The tournament -- featuring 20 teams, including India -- is scattered across nine venues, six of them in the <keyword id="19921633" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="West-Indies" source="keywords">West Indies</keyword>. As of now, the threat, according to media reports, is specific to the West Indies, which aside from some preliminary matches, will be hosting the entire Super 8 stage along with the semifinals and the final on June 29. "Unfortunately, the threat of terrorism in its many and varied expressions is an ever-present danger in the world of the 21st century," Rowley was quoted as saying by 'Trinidad Daily Express' here. "However, in order to ameliorate these dangers, we at the local and regional levels have remained alert to many threats and singularly or together have our intelligence and other security agencies working to protect the population in countries and at venues throughout the tournament," he added. The World Cup matches in the West Indies will be held in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago. The US leg will feature games in Florida, New York and Texas. New York will host the marquee India-Pakistan clash on June 9. The International Cricket Council today postponed T20 World Cup and World Cup 2023 qualifiers till June 2020 in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. All ICC events scheduled before June 2020 will be affected and shall be subjected to further review. The international cricketing body <a href="https://www.icc-cricket.com/news/1648353">noted</a> that the decision has been taken in line with government and health advisories. “In light of the significant global health concerns at the current time and the restrictions on movement imposed by governments across the world, the ICC has taken the decision to postpone all events up until the end of June subject to further review,” ICC’s head of events Chris Tetley said. Men’s T20 World Cup could be postponed too ICC has a major tournament coming up later this year, the Men’s T20 World Cup which is scheduled to be held in October 2020. The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday said it was going to release standing room tickets for the highly anticipated ICC Men's T20 <keyword id="22177" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="world-cup" source="Orion">World Cup</keyword> 2022 match between <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword> and <keyword id="3001" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="pakistan" source="Orion">Pakistan</keyword> at the MCG, to be held on October 23. "Over 4,000 standing room tickets and a limited number of additional seated allocations will be released from 12pm AEST today at t20worldcup.com. The standing room tickets will be available for $30 and sold on a first come, first served basis. All fans are encouraged to create their T20 World Cup ticketing account in advance due to the anticipated demand for the additional tickets," said the ICC. Earlier, in February this year, general ticket allocations for the marquee clash in the upcoming edition of Men's T20 World Cup, dubbed as the 'greatest rivalry' in world cricket were sold out within five minutes of going on sale. "The ticket release ensures that as many fans as possible can attend the fixture scheduled to be played on Sunday 23 October.
