<keyword id="6912" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="maruti">Maruti</keyword> is a very well-known brand in India. Major part of the population in the country owns or has owned a Maruti car at one point or the other. The Indian car giant announced its Q1 2014 profit results today that have seen a spectacular growth. They have revealed that the company has had a strong growth of over 21% compared to the same period last year. 
 The <keyword id="6409995" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="profits">profits</keyword> expanded to Rs 762.3 crores and has indicated that the slump period in the auto market is over. These are robust outcomes, which are seen due to great dealer and company discounts given to customers in the recent months. Maruti and other car makers should continue to bank in on this and should continue till the coming festive season for stronger Q2. 
 
The company also sold 2,70,643 units of cars during this quarter that is up by 10% when compared to the same period last year.

Maruti’s Q1 Profit Swells By 21%, Rises To Rs 762.3 Crores

<ul><li>Market research reports say that July is going to see car sales continue to remain weak across all segments.</li><li>This also means that discounts per car are increasing heavily, Maruti Suzuki is leading the monthly discounts race. </li><li>Most car manufacturers saw their sales decline in the Q1 of FY20, also affecting their profits.</li></ul>Car sales have been slipping for the last eight months, and experts are predicting a tepid July month as well. As expected, manufacturers are rolling in discounts every month, to help push sales. Maruti Suzuki is leading the way with most ‘total cash discounts’ offered to consumers. While Alto models saw an 8% increase in discounts as compared to June, the Celerio Automatic and Dzire Diesel versions saw a steep increase of 23% and 27%. India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki’s profits fell by 27.3%. It total sales for the first quarter of FY20 fell by 17.9% as compared to the same quarter last year. Meanwhile, <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword>’ saw its cumulative income (Jaguar Land Rover included) dropped by 20%. And, the manufacturers are beginning to blame the government. “There is no demand and no private investment, so where will growth come from? It doesn’t fall from the heavens. The auto industry is going through a very difficult period. Cars, commercial vehicles and two-wheelers are going through a rough patch,” Rahul Bajaj, Chairman and MD of Bajaj Group said at his company’s annual general meeting. Deep discounts fail as car sales are set to fall for the ninth straight month in July

<ul><li><keyword id="100743" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="suzuki-motor-corporation" source="Orion">Suzuki Motor Corporation</keyword> on Monday said it expects its automobile sales in <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword> to be higher than the 5-7 per cent annual growth projected for the domestic market this fiscal.</li><li>In a statement, <keyword id="6911" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="suzuki" source="Orion">Suzuki</keyword> stated that it aims to recover its market share in India by introducing sports utility vehicles.</li><li>The Japanese automaker said its operating profit increased by 159.1 billion yen year on year (83.1 per cent) to 350.6 billion in FY 2022.</li></ul>Suzuki Motor Corporation on Monday said it expects its automobile sales in India to be higher than the 5-7 per cent annual growth projected for the domestic market this fiscal. It also noted that the automaker will focus on multiple technological pathways like CNG and hybrid cars and not solely depend on battery electric cars to contribute to carbon neutrality in the Indian market. "We want to contribute to carbon neutrality through a 'multi-path' that includes CNG vehicles, HEVs, etc., rather than focusing solely on BEVs," Suzuki Motor Corp said in a statement referring to the Indian market. The Japanese automaker said its operating profit increased by 159.1 billion yen year on year (83.1 per cent) to 350.6 billion in FY 2022. Suzuki stated that consolidated net sales and profits increased in the last year, mainly owing to the impact of the exchange rates and an increase in volume in markets like India, <keyword id="6355311" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="japan" source="Orion">Japan</keyword> and <keyword id="12925" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="africa" source="Orion">Africa</keyword>. On a consolidated basis, the profit attributable to owners of the parent increased by 60.8 billion yen (37.9 per cent) to 221.1 billion yen, the automaker stated. In the current fiscal year, the company expects net sales of 4.9 trillion yen, up 5.6 per cent from FY2022 mainly due to an increase in volume, Suzuki stated. Operating profit is expected to be 330 billion yen, down 5.9 per cent from FY2022, due to factors such as increased growth investment to realise the company's growth strategy, as well as the strong yen and increase in raw material prices, it added. The company sold a total of 19,66,164 vehicles last fiscal, despite missing production of about 1,70,000 units due to a shortage of electronic components. This translated to a growth of 19 per cent over FY22 sales volume of 16,52,653 vehicles. Expect India sales to be higher than industry growth this fiscal: Suzuki Motor

Even as FY 2015-16 ended on a good note for Maruti Suzuki, with the auto maker registering 16% rise in sales and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Maruti-sales-grow-double-digit/articleshow/51874257.cms">planning for another good year</a> of sales, it has now reported that the net profit saw a 12% YOY fall, standing at Rs 1,130 crore for the March quarter. 
 
For the same period last year, it had reported a net profit of Rs 1,284. 
 
<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Ignis-and-Baleno-variant-launch/articleshow/51794151.cms">India’s largest carmaker</a> has seen a fall in net profit for the first time in two years, possibly because of higher expenses and production loss that happened because of a civil unrest near its factory. 
 
In net sales, it had <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Marutis-financial-year-ends-well/articleshow/51648291.cms">reported a 15.27% growth in net sales</a>, upping it to Rs 15,300 crore, in comparison to Rs 13,273 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. 
 
The company has now declared a dividend of Rs 35 per share, with the stock jumping 3% as an instant reaction to the net profit results.
