<img class="gwt-Image" src="/photo/53394104.cms" /> It’s been a little over two years that <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> took his oath as the Prime Minister of India, and in these two years, he has travelled 51 times abroad to 42 countries across six continents. While one can say that it’s because of India’s increasing commitments at multilateral forums that he has to travel so much, given that several of his trips, including ones he made to Sri Lanka, Australia, Nepal, Seychelles, UAE, Canada and Fiji were strategic for bilateral pacts, the truth can’t be denied that by the time his term ends in 2019, he could well be the most travelled Indian PM ever. 
 
As per ET, Modi has travelled a total of 1,91,069 miles since he became the PM, taking 9 foreign trips in 2014, 28 in 2015 and 14 in 2016 so far. In the coming three years, he will possibly be travelling to Vietnam, China, Laos, Pakistan, Japan, Israel, China, Kazakhstan, Phillipines, Moscow, Germany, South Africa, and Shanghai for several meetings and summits, involving BRICS, East Asia Summit, G-20 meetings etc. 
 
However, it’s not like Modi is the only PM who loves to (read has to) travel. His immediate predecessor Manmohan Singh comes quite close when one counts the number of foreign trips undertaken in the first two years. Other than him, late PM Indira Gandhi was also a very well-travelled PM, having been to Afghanistan and Trinidad and Tobago in her regime.

While back to back talks and discussions have made people inquisitive in both the countries, most Chinese dailies <keyword id="258434" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="This-Morning">this morning</keyword> have put Modi’s outing in their country on top priority. 
 Today seems to be more eventful than yesterday. After his grand reception at the Great Hall of People in the capital city of <keyword id="1333" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Beijing">Beijing</keyword>, Chinese <keyword id="4744" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="premier">Premier</keyword> <keyword id="191503" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Li-Keqiang">Li Keqiang</keyword> settled for formal talks with Modi. The topics of discussion included the controversial border issue as well as Chinese <keyword id="6362476" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="investments">investments</keyword> in India. 
 
This is the second round of bi-lateral talks Modi is holding with the Chinese leadership during his on-going three-day China trip. 
 Yesterday, he talked over five hours with Chinese <keyword id="2540" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="President">President</keyword> <keyword id="191809" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Xi-Jinping">Xi Jinping</keyword> during which all the contentious issues including the border issue were discussed. Today's talks were the extension of yesterday's Modi-Xi talks. 
 
As per a news report in The Economic Times, Modi is eyeing deals worth $23.5 billion to be signed as collaboration with Chinese companies. These include a $2.5-billion financing for <a href="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/bharti-airtel-ltd/stocks/companyid-2718.cms" target="_blank">Bharti Airtel</a> from Chinese lenders, a $3.5-billion venture by the <a href="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/topic/Adani-Group" target="_blank">Adani Group</a> as well as big-ticket investments by <keyword id="45609" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="JSW-Steel">JSW Steel</keyword>, GMR and Welspun. With the exception of Bharti, the other companies are likely to sign joint venture agreements with Chinese partners. 
 
In a joint statement with China's Premier Li Keqiang, Modi said, "We are pleased with the progress on the commitments from the Summit last September. This includes cooperation in the Railways, where we have identified specific projects, and the two Chinese industrial parks in Gujarat and Maharashtra." 
 
According to a news report in The Economic Times, China's Premier Li Keqiang said that China and India need to strengthen mutual political trust so that together they can build a fairer and more reasonable international order. 
 
India and China have signed twenty-four key agreements in a wide range of sectors. PM Modi is on a three-day visit to China as the two world's two largest countries by population work to boost economic ties.

 Modi arrived in Beijing last night from Xi’an. After rounds of meetings, Modi would address the students of <keyword id="167708" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tsinghua-University">Tsinghua university</keyword> and attend a demonstration of Yoga-Tai Chi, a Chinese variant of the martial art. 
 Modi’s bucket list for the last day tomorrow includes meeting a number of CEOs of top Chinese companies and open the first Gandhian studies centre at <keyword id="132970" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Fudan-University">Fudan university</keyword> and address Indian community in <keyword id="6368000" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shanghai">Shanghai</keyword> after which he will leave for <keyword id="3663" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mongolia">Mongolia</keyword>.

Modi’s Day in China today

By Gaurav Saini New Delhi, Apr 13 () The children of Safai karamchari Manoj Kumar are a worried lot these days, as he suffers from diabetes, which makes him highly vulnerable to the deadly coronavirus infection.Every time they ask him to take leave from work for a few days, Kumar smiles and says, "The threat of death cannot deter me from doing my duty."The 44-year-old sanitation worker, who leaves his house in Sector 49, Noida, around 6 am, says going to work has been a different experience altogether these days."These are the times which make you feel how important you are... that you are an important cog in the wheel. I cannot describe how I felt when people clapped and beat utensils for us on the insistence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he says.Kumar says no one among his colleagues has taken leave or remained absent even for a day due to the treat of coronavirus."It's our duty, and we are not going to step back from it. The entire country, including our prime minister, has been supporting us," he says.Kumar, who commutes between Noida and Madanpur Khadar JJ Colony in southeast Delhi on his motorcycle, says five to six of his colleagues travel from far off areas such as Nangloi and Palwal."There is no public transport, so they travel on motorcycle. Initially, the policemen would stop them in between and return them. Later, they got curfew passes issued," he says.The sanitation workers wear masks, gloves and caps and maintain a distance of more than a meter during door-to-door garbage collection."We request families to keep the children away, keep their garbage bin near the gates and disinfect it once we leave. People have been very cooperative so far," Kumar says.When he returns home after work, Kumar directly enters his bathroom located near the entrance, takes a bath and washes his clothes. "This is the standard drill these days. Earlier, I would drink water first and then clean myself up. Now, I take a bath and wash my clothes first," he says.Ward supervisor Vivek Kumar Dubey, under whom Kumar and others work, says the company employed by municipal corporations for the sanitation work had been providing protective equipment earlier too.He says the workers have been toiling hard, working overtime to ensure maximum cleanliness in the area, which is located near two coronavirus hotspots – Mehella Mohalla and Gali Number 6, Kachhi Colony.The appreciation we have been receiving from people and community members has kept our spirits high.Another sanitation worker, Ramesh, 50, cycles to work in Okhla Phase 2 from his Dakshinpuri residence."It takes me around 45 minutes to cover the distance. Public transport is an issue but my cycle is doing a great job,"he says.Ramesh says he didn't have a mask, so his son got him one. "My son says we are the real frontline warriors and nothing makes me happier."Asked about the workload, he says, "The work has increased as more people have been working from home. It is autumn, so there is a large amount of leaves on the roads which also needs to be taken care of."When he returns home, Ramesh takes the stairs to a separate room on the first floor where he has been staying, away from his family on the ground floor."Before I touch anything, I enter the bathroom, take off my clothes, dip them into a bucket full of water and then take a bath," he says."Those who are keeping the country clean should also keep themselves clean, isn't it?" he says.
