Last day to bid for auto components maker Sansera Engineering IPO; grey market indicates ₹10 premium

Mumbai, Apr 13 () The coronavirus outbreak and inventory correction before transition to BS-VI emission norms are expected to pull down aggregate revenue of some of the auto and auto ancillary companies by 26 per cent in March quarter even as the near-term weakness in demand is likely to continue as COVID-19 persists, a report said on Monday.Besides, the higher discounts and operating de-leverage are expected to contract aggregate margins by 240 basis point year-on-yea, Emkay Global Financial Services, said in its report on the auto and auto ancillaries. Most of the manufacturing activities, including in the auto sector, are suspended since March 25 when the government implemented a 21-day lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus.States like Maharashtra, Punjab, Odisha, Telangana and West Bengal have already announced the extension of lockdown till April 30. "Aggregate revenue (in March quarter) is likely to decline 26 per cent year-on-year, owing to the Covid-19 outbreak and inventory correction before BS6 transition. Firms that are likely to record a steep fall in revenue are deep cyclicals or companies with global linkages," Emkay Global said.The March quarter topline of the companies covered under the report are likely to be weak with 28 per cent year-on-year fall , it said adding the decline will be sharp for deep cyclicals and companies with global linkages.The auto makers included in its analysis are Tata Motors, M&amp;M Ltd, Maruti Suzuki India, Hero MotoCorp, TVS Motors, Ashok Leyland, Bajaj Auto, Eicher Motors, Escorts and Atul Auto. Apollo Tyres, Amara raja, Exide, Motherson Sumi and Bharat Forge were among the ancillary makers. The report said it expects the rebound in sales to be sooner in passenger vehicles, premium motorcycles and tractors segment."Although near-term weakness is expected to continue as the Covid-19 outbreak drags, a gradual recovery is likely from H2FY21 led by a low base, better rural sentiment and pent-up demand. COVID-19, inventory correction before BSVI transition to hit auto revenues in March qtr

New Delhi, Feb 6 () Rate-sensitive stocks on Thursday closed with gains after the RBI left the policy rates unchanged but maintained its accommodative stance to boost growth.Among bank stocks, IndusInd Bank gained 4.85 per cent, RBL Bank rose 4.53 per cent, SBI 3.55 per cent, Yes Bank 2.53 per cent, Axis Bank 1.77 per cent, Federal Bank 1.65 per cent, City Union Bank 1.39 per cent and ICICI Bank 0.51 per cent on the BSE.The BSE Bank index rose 0.95 per cent to close at 35,819.26.From the auto pack, Eicher Motors climbed 5.26 per cent, Bosch gained 2.44 per cent, TVS Motor Company 2.16 per cent, Hero MotoCorp 1.56 per cent, Motherson Sumi Systems 1 per cent and Ashok Leyland 0.75 per cent.The auto index closed 0.12 per cent higher at 18,271.25. "The market has managed to close in positive territory on the RBI's credit policy day. The RBI maintained status quo on its rate decision, which was on expected lines but announced positive measures for housing finance companies that triggered a positive sentiment in the market," Shrikant Chouhan, Senior Vice-President, Equity Technical Research, Kotak Securities said. In the sixth bi-monthly monetary policy review of 2019-20, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) unanimously voted to keep the repo rate unchanged at 5.15 per cent while retaining its accommodative stance.Among realty companies, Godrej Properties rose 1.93 per cent, Sobha jumped 1.40 per cent, Indiabulls Real Estate 1.16 per cent, Prestige Estates Projects 1.06 per cent, Oberoi Realty 0.52 per cent and Sunteck Realty 0.04 per cent. However, some companies witnessed decline with DLF falling 2.88 per cent, Omaxe 0.79 per cent, The Phoenix Mills 0.66 per cent and Mahindra Lifespace Developers 0.40 per cent. The realty index went lower by 0.29 per cent to close at 2,481.15. "It was an expected move by the RBI, maintaining the repo rate unchanged at 5.15 per cent. With the inflation rate breaching the upper band, it will take time for the central bank to revive the rate cuts. By maintaining the accommodative stance, there is scope for rate cuts once the inflation rate falls back to a comfortable level," Deepthi Mary Mathew, Economist, Geojit Financial Services said. Rate-sensitive stocks gain after RBI policy

New Delhi, Dec 5 () Rate-sensitive bank and auto stocks fell on Thursday while realty companies largely depicted a mixed trend after the Reserve Bank surprised with its decision to hold key policy rates.
Among bank stocks, IndusInd Bank fell 2.21 per cent, RBL Bank 1.95 per cent, SBI 1.65 per cent, Yes Bank 1.51 per cent, Axis Bank 1.39 per cent, Federal Bank 1.25 per cent, HDFC Bank 0.50 per cent, Kotak Mahindra Bank 0.46 per cent and ICICI Bank 0.27 per cent on the BSE.
The BSE Bank index closed at 36,147.31, down 0.76 per cent.
The Reserve Bank on Thursday unexpectedly hit a pause button on cutting interest rate as it gave more importance to prevailing inflation pressure and rising food prices over a worrying slowdown in the economy.
After five consecutive cuts in interest rates this year, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), headed by RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das, unanimously voted to hold the key repo rate at 5.15 per cent and reverse repo rate at 4.90 per cent.
Among auto companies, Tata Motors skidded 1.95 per cent, Hero MotoCorp 1.76 per cent, Ashok Leyland 1.42 per cent, Motherson Sumi Systems 1.17 per cent, Maruti Suzuki India 0.99 per cent, Bajaj Auto 0.71 per cent, M&amp;M 0.37 per cent and TVS Motor Company 0.08 per cent.
 Tracking weakness in these scrips, the BSE auto index settled 0.64 per cent lower at 17,810.17.
 "RBI's decision to keep policy rates unchanged was a surprise, especially after indicating in the last policy that growth was a bigger concern and reducing the FY 2020 GDP growth estimate to 5 per cent," said Suvodeep Rakshit, Vice President &amp; Sr Economist, Kotak Institutional Equities. 
 Realty index was mixed at the closing bell. Shares of Phoenix Mills fell 2.64 per cent, Sunteck Realty 1.70 per cent, Mahindra Lifespace Developers 1.59 per cent, Godrej Properties 0.19 per cent, Indiabulls Real Estate 0.16 per cent and Prestige Estates Projects 0.09 per cent.
 In contrast, Oberoi Realty gained 2.75 per cent, Sobha 0.59 per cent, Omaxe 0.42 per cent and DLF 0.39 per cent.
 The realty index closed at 2,198.50, up 0.20 per cent.
 HDFC Securities MD &amp; CEO Dhiraj Relli said, "Though the stock market participants could be disappointed by the no-repo-rate-cut action, we think that the participants are mature enough to understand the prudence of the Central Bank which means that the markets may not react downwards sharply due to this disappointment."
In the broader market, the 30-share BSE gauge Sensex was lower by 70.70 points or 0.17 per cent to close at 40,779.59. 
"It was an unexpected move with the RBI keeping the repo rate unchanged at 5.15 per cent, as the market expected 25 bps (basis points) cut in repo rate," Deepthi Mary Mathew, Economist at Geojit Financial Services said.
"Given the growth-inflation dynamics, we still sense that RBI will deliver a rate cut of 25bps in February policy meeting given the widespread deceleration in the economy," Amar Ambani, Head of Research - Institutional Equities, YES Securities said. SUM

	Mid-priced stocks saw active demand. There was no let up in buying into CNX Nifty Junior, CNX 100, CNX 200 and CNX 500 Indices, although the gains were muted.
 

	
		
			The Bank Nifty added 100 points to 19,029 as traders remained buyers on the entire banking sector but they preferred PSU lenders over their private counterparts. The CNX PSU bank Index was the top gainer, up 0.7 percent. The trend in other sectoral indices weakened. CNX Metals, CNX IT, CNX Media and CNX FMCG edged lower. 
		 
		
			On the Bombay Stock Exchange, the <keyword id="6484188" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Sensex">Sensex</keyword> rose 75 points to end the day at 28,298 points. Lupin, Dr. Reddy's, Tata Motors and TCS were the top gainers whereas ITC, Coal India and Reliance Industries lost ground. As a consequence, the Advance-Decline Ratio on the Sensex stood at 17/13. Tata Motors was the top traded counter with 12.54 lakh shares changing hands on the BSE.
		
			
				 
				
					Bears dominated the wider market today with just 1,372 stocks gaining ground versus 1,551 fell below Wednesday's closing prices.
				 
				
					The trend was positive in the derivatives space with Nifty Futures closing above the 8,600-point mark. Pharma, Power, Realty and Infrastructure sectors were the major gainers among 18 industries in both price and open interest. The Advance-Decline Ratio was a strong 83/76 in the futures and Options market.
				 
				
					Investors cheered earnings from Cummins, JP Power, Bajaj Electricals, Escorts and 3M India whereas they were disappointed by Motherson Sumi, Accelya Kale and Arvind Ltd.
