As per the survey, nearly 38 per cent out of the nearly 10,000 respondents to the question on "how much has your annual insurance increased in the last 12 months," said they had paid 50 per cent or more, while 24 per cent citizens had paid 25 per cent - 50 per cent higher <keyword id="47469" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="premium" source="Orion">premium</keyword>s and 11 per cent had seen their health insurance premium go up by 10 per cent -25 per cent, another 9 per cent paid 0 per cent - 10 per cent higher premium. "I have decided to step down from facebook after long service to its mission of connecting people and building communities to pursue my personal interest in public service,” she said in her farewell statement. Her resignation comes within days of Facebook being called before a parliamentary panel to discuss issues of data privacy. Ajit Mohan, the managing director for Facebook in India, commended Das on the instrumental role she played in the company since 2011. Ankhi Das quits as Facebook's India public policy head

India's first policy on intellectual property rights (IPR) has been approved by the cabinet. 
 "In India, we have a very effective and robust trademark law in place, but the policy deals with the mechanism of trademark registration. Many things now are starting online. By 2017, it will take one month to register a trademark, not years," stated finance minister <keyword id="42575" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Arun-Jaitley">Arun Jaitley</keyword>, while adding that all processes will now be done online. 
 "The objective behind the <keyword id="2475736" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="IPR-policy">IPR policy</keyword> is quite clear, when there are new inventions, when there is growth in trade, commerce and industry, an IPR must be there to protect them," he added. 
 
The new policy has seen additions in the form of music and industrial drawings.

As for Trump, Hass expects him to resume his more direct confrontational approach to trade with China. "Privately, Trump's advisors accept that such an action would increase the prices of imports, but they argue that the cost would be worth it because China's overall economy would take a larger hit than America's from the tariffs," Hass said.Ultimately, no matter who ends up taking office, Hass believes the US-China economic relationship will only become rockier."Regardless of whether Biden or Trump prevails in the 2024 election, America's economic policy toward China likely will grow tighter, rather than looser," he concluded.

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Friday approved an electric vehicle (EV) policy that aims at promoting such automobile manufacturing and the adoption of pollution-free transport. Odisha <keyword id="6248507" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="electric-vehicle-policy" source="Orion">Electric Vehicle Policy</keyword>, 2021 got the go-ahead during the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. "The objective of the policy is to achieve adoption of 20 per cent electric vehicles of all automobile registrations by 2025 and to promote manufacturing of such vehicles and its components, including battery, in the state. This also aims at facilitating innovation, research &amp; development," Chief Secretary SC Mahapatra said. He stated that it is now necessary to reduce vehicular pollution and carbon emission. "It is high time to reduce the emission by curbing the use of vehicles that consume fossil fuel and accelerating the pace of adoption of electric vehicles," he said. Various incentives will be available for industries for manufacturing electric vehicles and for individuals for purchase, another official said, adding that interest subvention in loans, waiving of road tax and registration fees were also proposed. Incentives under the startup policy of the MSME Department will also be extended for making pollution-free vehicles. As per the policy, a 15 per cent subsidy for buying electric motorcycles, three-wheelers and four-wheelers will be provided with a maximum amount of ₹5,000, ₹12,000 and ₹1,00,000, respectively. The Cabinet also approved the Odisha Sand Policy, 2021 which will ensure sustainable mining of it in the state. The policy has been framed considering the demand-supply situation, identification of sources, mining plan, environment and other statutory clearances, Mohapatra said. "It is in accordance with the environmental regulations and to ensure adequate supply of sand for development and welfare projects," he said. This will help prevent illegal mining of sand and make sure a robust monitoring mechanism with the IT-enabled regulations. The Cabinet also cleared several proposals pertaining to various departments ranging from social security and empowerment of persons with disabilities, water resources, commerce and transport to fisheries, revenue and disaster management. It approved a tender worth Rs199.60 crore for the construction of a wall at the Kanpur irrigation project site in Keonjhar district. The work would be completed in 11 months, he added.
