New Delhi, July 5 (IANSlife) Indian Federation for Fashion Development's (IFFD) will be holding the second <keyword id="819905" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Instagram">Instagram</keyword> edition of the fashion event India Runway Week from September 17-20. The first edition of the event on Instagram was held on September 12-15 2019 and witnessed 35 designers including veterans like Nikhil Thampi, Siddharth Tytler, Ashima Leena, Poonam Dubey, Nikhita Tandon, Kaaisha by Shalini, Niki Mahajan, Anjalee Arjun Kapoor and Manish Gupta, among others. With its second edition, 'Virtual <keyword id="1743" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="fashion-week">Fashion Week</keyword> by India Runway Week' aims to create an eco-system to promote a digital platform of fashion week that is "inclusive to everyone and as it's safe to be indoor during Covid19." The event will have an interactive digital reach along with creating an ecosystem where designers, media and buyers can interact virtually with a focus on 100 percent #MadeDigitally. The model auditions will also be on Instagram using #tag #CastMeIRW. Avinash Pathania, founder, Indian Federation for Fashion Development said: "We are happy to launch the second edition of Virtual Fashion A week and this time it will be much bigger and better with more creative ideas to support it and make it different from all the other new entrants in the same kind of platform due to COVID-19 pandemic."

India to soon hold a virtual fashion week on Instagram

<keyword id="6356755" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="IIT-Madras">IIT Madras</keyword>' annual cultural fest '<keyword id="542908" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Saarang">Saarang</keyword>' themed 'enchanted forest' is back this year in a new avatar. In a bid to raise awareness about the government's drive to go digital, it has gone completely cashless in the fest season. 
 
That means, from food stalls to ticket sales, visitors are swiping their debit cards or using online wallets and other digital modes to make payments. Bank representatives on the campus are guiding visitors. 
 
In line with the fresh theme of the event, the organising team has focused on ambience so a walk through the campus can give visitors a feel of walking in the woods. 
 
To make up for the loss of green cover that took a hit during the December cyclone, the Saarang team will also be planting 100 saplings on the campus. 
 The fest will see 90 large scale competitive events, 200 informal shows, 14 lecture demonstrations, 6 professional shows and 7 world culture show acts, including graffiti, sand art and street dancing. Other than classical, choreo, EDM and rock shows, a feature is the spotlight lectures which in cludes a line-up of doyens like T M Krishna, Prachi Tehlan, Anirudh Ravichander, Shekhar Gupta, Siddharth and <keyword id="121606" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Gautam-Menon">Gautam Menon</keyword>, among others. New additions this time include a comedy show by Biswa Kalyan Rath, a gaming zone and a food fest. 
 IIT-M director <keyword id="797116" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bhaskar-Ramamurthi">Bhaskar Ramamurthi</keyword> said the aim of the fest from the institute's perspective is two-fold wherein students learn skills outside the classroom through the process of conceiving and executing the fest along with being exposed to a wide variety of talent. "IITs can also become self-contained and having students from outside is an opportunity for them to learn," he said.

Have you ever played Santa to an underprivileged kid not for charity, but to see the smile hidden behind the shabby face? Imagine the world doing it at a greater length. This Christmas, start-ups went beyond promoting their business products to playing Santa to hundreds of children, just to see that sparkling smile.
 

	This trend came to the forefront when the country was struck by one of its most devastating disaster, the Chennai floods. From IT companies to telecon to start-ups, everybody came to the rescue of the victims. Startups are increasingly partnering with non-governmental organisations to bridge the gap between non-profit and for-profit enterprises.
 “We do a lot for the corporate. Why not extend the services to the development of those who are neglected and deprived of opportunities?” said Siddharth Gupta, cofounder of <keyword id="2913717" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Treebo">Treebo</keyword> Hotels. 

	Here’s a list for the government and corporate to look up to as an example of how to serve a nation and make it a developed country, in true sense.
 

	Tech-enabled budget hotel start-up, Treebo partnered with a host of NGOs and organised an educational tour for 33 underprivileged children in Bangalore. Their two day stay at a hotel which was accompanied by tours around the city museums and monuments is a one of its kind initiative, named ‘Junior checks-in’.
 

	“We tied up with NGOs because we genuinely feel that travel can contribute to the growth and learning of any individual, particularly kids. We felt that these kids who don’t have all the privileges never get the opportunity to travel and use travel to expand their learning horizon,” said Gupta, adding that they plan to conduct such tours once every quarter.
 Treebo partnered with several NGOs engaged in welfare of underprivileged kids across the country, including <keyword id="828816" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Salaam">Salaam</keyword> Baalak Trust, Divya Deepa Charitable Trust, IDEA Foundation, and CHETNA. <keyword id="6368965" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="ZoomCar">Zoomcar</keyword>, a self drive car rental company, partnered with Infant Jesus Charity Home, a voluntary, non- government and non- profit organization dedicated to give love and understanding to orphaned and underprivileged children. They took the children for a joy ride on the occasion of Diwali this year, 2015. Zoomcar also partnered with Janagraha and launched #mycleanbangalore encouraging its customers to take a resolution to keep the city clean and green. 

	There are also start-ups which does the work of an NGO by being a for-profit enterprise. Shop For a Cause, online shopping portal tied up with NGOs that promote handicrafts made by tribal women and are promoting them in their online shopping site.
 Talking about Chennai floods, the contribution of the start-ups cannot be mentioned enough. Apart from food delivery and mobile payment start-ups, technology start-ups too came forward to enable technology based relief operations which turned out to create a huge difference. One such Delhi-based data startup <keyword id="2591749" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="SocialCops">Socialcops</keyword> is working with NGO Bhumi with relief operations by providing better data, technology and efficiency in identifying the worst hit areas. There are also start-ups that work closely with slums. Through a tie-up with NGO Diwya, which works with kids in Dharavi, Mumbai's biggest slum, <keyword id="2556777" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Timesaverz">Timesaverz</keyword>, on demand home services marketplace, is distributing anything its customers want to give away to these needy children. 

	These start-ups have started a trend which is afst catching up in the startup boom in India. Hope this catches up with every corporates and government of the country too.

Startups playing Santa: Lessons to be learned by all!

The third season of the hit <keyword id="7745246" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="amazon-series" source="Orion">Amazon series</keyword> "<keyword id="7686959" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="four-more-shots-please" source="Orion">Four More Shots Please</keyword>!" will premiere on October 21, streamer Prime Video announced Friday. Created by Rangita Pritish Nandy and produced by Pritish Nandy Communications, the series is headlined by actors Sayani Gupta, Kirti Kulhari, Bani J and Maanvi Gagroo. According to a press release issued by the streamer, the new season will bring back to screens the lives of four unapologetically flawed women -- Damini (Gupta), Umang (Bani J), Anjana (Kulhari) and Sidhi (Gagroo) who live, love, blunder, and discover what continues to make them tick through their forever friendship in the city of Mumbai. Actors Jim Sarbh, Rohan Mehra, Shilpa Shukla and Sushant Singh join the cast for the third season, which also includes Prateik Babbar, Lisa Ray, Neil Bhooplam, Rajeev Siddharth, Amrita Puri, Simone Singh and Samir Kochhar. Rangita Pritish Nandy called the upcoming chapter of the show as the "most personal season". "Season one, you met Anjana, Damini, Umang and Siddhi, season two, you saw them stumble through life-lessons and blunders, season three, watch our girls own themselves; drama, failures, errors in judgment, losses and warts, all included. "In that sense, season 3 is our most personal season. There is no way that you will not want to be a part of this friendship," the creator said in a statement. Buoyed by the success of the first two instalments, producer Pritish Nandy said the show's team has worked harder to produce a power-packed season three. "'Four More Shots Please!' travels to Italy and Punjab this season, apart from South Mumbai; the drama is bigger, the scale is larger, and the friendship is stronger. The show's nomination at the international Emmys in 2021 is a testament to the fact that 'Four More Shots Please!' has hit a personal note with audiences in India and internationally. "There is really no other show that celebrates female friendships like 'Four More Shots Please!' and I'm hopeful that our fandom will grow substantially with this new season," he added. Aparna Purohit, Head of India Originals at Prime Video India, said "Four More Shots Please!" has been a true labour of love for the streaming service. "It's a celebration of sisterhood. This show reaffirms our commitment to promoting diverse and new cinematic voices and making Prime Video a home for talent.
