The company says that the phone is the slimmest smartphone in the 5500mAh battery category. The phone also boasts a powerful camera setup in collaboration with Zeiss. It is available in two storage variants and two colour options. So, is the Vivo V40 Pro as promising in real-life as much as it looks on the specs sheet? Read on to find out. <br /><br /><br /><h2><keyword id="22642110" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vivo-V40-Pro-review" source="Orion">Vivo V40 Pro review</keyword>: Design and display</h2><br />When I first looked at the phone, I couldn’t help but marvel at how gorgeous it looks. <br /><br />The phone boasts a sleek and modern design that feels great in hand, thanks to its curved front and back glass panels, which effortlessly blend into the rounded frame. Hence, I would recommend using it with the back cover on always. <br /><br />The Titanium Grey colour makes it look like it belongs in a conference room and is built for serious business. I am a fan of minimalist designs and if that’s what you prefer in a phone, you will love the design language of the V40 Pro.<br /><br />The camera module at the back mimics a pendulum, with two cameras neatly positioned in a circular arrangement at the top, while a third camera and a distinctive aura LED ring complete the look in the bottom module. The symmetrical, artistic design of the camera module adds to the phone’s elegance. <br /><br />Then there’s the usual Vivo branding on the left and Zeiss branding placed within the camera module. <br /><br />On the right edge, there is a power button and volume buttons. The placing of these buttons is spot on as I could easily turn the volume up and down using my thumb while holding the phone. The bottom edge has the Type-C charging port and speakers along with the SIM tray. <br /><br />On the front, the phone comes with a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display paired with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is surrounded by slim bezels that result in an immersive experience and also has a punch-hole notch which enhances the experience. The display comes with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. I watched a couple of episodes of The Modern Family and The Walking Dead on Netflix and loved the experience. <br /><br /><br /><h2>Vivo V40 Pro review: Software, performance and battery</h2><br />When it comes to performance, the V40 Pro meets expectations. The phone is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 9200+ processor and everyday tasks feel smooth and seamless. Whether you're making calls, jotting down notes in a meeting, editing photos in Adobe Lightroom, or playing games, the phone can take care of it all. I didn’t encounter any lags or performance issues, even with multiple apps running simultaneously. In fact, I managed to have 18 apps open at once without the phone slowing down, showcasing its impressive multitasking capabilities.<br /><br />I also played a couple of games on the phone including COD Mobile, Genshin Impact, The Sims Freeplay and Battlegrounds Mobile India. The phone was capable of running all the games perfectly at medium and high graphic settings. It did get fairly warm after some intense gameplay but it never got to the point where I had to keep it down. The speakers, enough to fill up a medium-sized room, felt adequate. The sound quality deserves a mention too as I enjoyed the sound effects in all the games.<br />  <div type="image" title="4" msid="113456073" hostid="261" sizebytes="1226977" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Vivo V40 Pro promises strong performance&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div><br />Talking about the battery, the phone will easily last you for a day and a half with medium usage. If your usage is light, it might last a couple of hours over that too. Hence, the battery life is quite impressive. I used the phone at work extensively every day and found myself reaching for a charger only on the following morning when I woke up.<br /><br />When I played Battlegrounds Mobile India on the phone for an hour, the battery dropped by 13 per cent. I was playing with full brightness on. Hence, if you are gaming on the phone for long hours, it is a good idea to have your charger next to you. The phone also charged to a full 100 per cent in about 50 minutes.<br /><br />On the software side, the Vivo V40 Pro runs <keyword id="21133649" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="FuntouchOS-14" source="keywords">FuntouchOS 14</keyword>, built on Android 14. While the interface is feature-rich, it does come with a fair amount of bloatware. Thankfully, most of these pre-installed apps can be removed or disabled, but it would’ve been better if the phone arrived with a cleaner setup right out of the box. Vivo has committed to providing two major OS updates along with three years of security patches, which is a reasonable promise for long-term users.<br /><br /><br /><h2>Vivo V40 Pro review: Camera</h2><br />The Vivo V40 Pro boasts an impressive quad-camera setup, featuring four 50MP sensors. At its core is a 50MP primary camera with Sony's IMX921 sensor and optical image stabilisation (OIS). In my opinion, the Zeiss Natural mode delivers the most accurate colour reproduction, and it quickly became my go-to for its lifelike results. Once you hit 3x zoom, there's a slight drop in texture sharpness, and by 5x zoom, the clarity starts to degrade. The front camera also captures some impressive low-light selfies.<br /><br />When I was out celebrating my birthday at a low-lit cafe at night, it was a delight having this phone around to capture special moments with my loved ones. The phone is also great for group selfies, as it captures as many as 15 people perfectly.<br /><br />In terms of portrait photography, the V40 Pro once again offers great texture and detail. Nevertheless, for those who prioritise camera performance and have the budget, this phone is a strong contender. The device will get three years of Android updates and four years of security updates. The software support offered by the company is decent for this segment.<br /><br />The V30e has its fair share of bloatware. This includes applications like Amazon, Snapchat, PhonePe, Facebook, LinkedIn and more. While these applications can be uninstalled, the V-Appstore, which is the company’s own app store also sends notifications for app recommendations.<br /><br />In terms of performance, the Vivo V30e is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset coupled with 8GB LPDDR5X of RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage.<br /><br />While the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset is not a very powerful one, it offers decent performance in this segment. The device can handle multitasking easily. I played Call of Duty: Mobile on the device and it was able to handle the game smoothly, without any stutters.<br /><br />The smartphone is powered by a 5,500mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. The large battery ensures that you do not have to worry about running out of juice during the day. With regular usage, you can get up to two days of battery life out of the device.<br /><br /><h2>Camera</h2>The Vivo V30e comes with a dual camera setup at the back consisting of a 50MP primary camera with a Sony IMX882 sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture. <ul class="summary-list"><li>Election Day is just two days away.</li><li>Harris and Trump are campaigning in swing states as they make their final appeals to voters.</li></ul><p>With Election Day on Tuesday, the end is in sight for what has been a <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/kamala-harris-donald-trump-presidential-debate-takeaways-2024-9">contentious US presidential race</a> between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.</p><p>More than 68 million Americans have already cast their ballots, a stunning figure that demonstrates the high interest and high stakes in a contest that has had more twists and turns than any presidential contest in recent memory.</p><p>Throughout the campaign, Trump has benefited from unease over the economy, a consistently top issue for voters. When President Joe Biden was the presumptive Democratic nominee, it was his biggest vulnerability, despite low unemployment and consistent job gains after the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.</p><p>Inflation has been driving much of the voter anxiety about the economy. Although wages have increased in recent years, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/07/briefing/us-job-market-biden-ev-push.html">higher prices</a> have affected the finances of millions.</p><p>After Biden stepped aside as the nominee in July and Harris became the Democratic Party standard bearer, she immediately focused on the issue, vowing to attack price gouging and unveiling a <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-us-economy-would-look-like-with-trump-biden-presidency-2024-5">broad economic plan</a> of her own.</p><p>It wasn't long before Harris began to narrow the gap between the Democrats and the GOP in the presidential race.</p><p>Now, <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/kamala-harris-donald-trump-15-days-swing-states-polling-2024-10">in its final days</a>, the race remains tight, with both candidates virtually tied in the swing states as they make their last appeals to voters.</p><h2 id="50876ac4-ebc3-448d-bba2-b26367be04b6">The battleground states remain close</h2><p>Harris' clearest path to reach 270 electoral votes — and an overall victory — is to sweep every Democratic stronghold and blue-leaning state while also winning Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District.</p><div type="image" title="Vice President Kamala Harris." height="5504" width="8256" msid="114911575" hostid="261" sizebytes="1811384"></div><p>Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin form a critical core of <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/harris-trump-blue-wall-economic-message-unions-michigan-pennsylvania-wisconsin-2024-10">the "blue wall" of states</a> that backed Democratic presidential nominees from 1992 until 2012, but have more recently been less reliable for Democrats.</p><p>The three states — which both Harris and Trump have crisscrossed in their hunt for votes — contain urban, suburban, and rural areas that will be key for each candidate in the race.</p><p>(Pennsylvania offers 19 electoral votes, while Michigan has 15, and Wisconsin has 10. Nebraska's 2nd offers one vote, which could be decisive for Harris.)</p><p>In 2016, Trump breached the blue wall, winning all three states by making inroads with working-class voters that had previously supported former President Barack Obama, including a critical bloc of independents and union workers.</p><p>But in 2020, Biden <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/joe-biden-sweeps-pennsylvania-michigan-wisconsin-battleground-states-election-2020-11">flipped the blue wall states</a> back into the Democratic column, but only narrowly. That year, Biden also won Nebraska's Omaha-anchored 2nd District, and recent polling <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-general/2024/nebraska/2/">suggests</a> that Harris may, in fact, also hold an advantage there.</p><p>Harris has directed much of her energy on these states, where she'll need to perform well to counter Trump's stronger standing in the Sun Belt.</p><h2 id="334dda81-d219-41e5-bd70-2bd8ffaf260b">The Sun Belt states</h2><p>Trump <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/kamala-harris-sun-belt-gains-trump-swing-states-polls-2024-8">appeared favored</a> to win Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina when he was running against Biden. But Harris' candidacy activated young and minority voters who were unenthusiastic about Biden, allowing her to broaden the Democratic map.</p><p>As a result, the Sun Belt states remain competitive. Republicans <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://thenevadaindependent.com/article/the-early-voting-blog-2024">appear to have built an early-vote advantage</a> in Nevada. However, Election Day turnout and the direction of the remaining mail-in ballots remain anyone's guess.</p><p>Voters in the Sun Belt have been focused on the economy and immigration, two issues that benefit Trump. But Harris has managed to <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/30/us/elections/trump-harris-economy-poll.html">cut into Trump's edge</a> on economic issues while also polling strongly on issues like abortion, democracy, and supporting the middle class.</p><h2 id="f8034860-3827-40ca-abe2-4b0ee46c261d">We could see a historic gender gap</h2><p>Shortly before Biden left the race, he held a <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/06/26/us/elections/times-siena-poll-registered-voter-crosstabs.html">small advantage</a> with women, while Trump fared much better with male voters.</p><p>However, with Harris as the Democratic nominee — and the potential for the United States to elect its first-ever female president — the country will likely see a historically large gender gap once all the votes are counted.</p><div type="image" title="Former President Donald Trump at a rally." height="4328" width="6648" msid="114911576" hostid="261" sizebytes="731590"></div><p>Harris' robust female stems, in part, from <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/harris-beyonce-abortion-reproductive-rights-trump-allred-2024-10">abortion rights</a>. </p><p>The Supreme Court in 2022 overturned Roe v. Wade, sending the issue of abortion back to the states. The device will get two years of Android updates and three years of security updates. Vivo should have added additional software support to the device, as companies have now started offering longer software support.<br /><br />For those unaware, Funtouch OS is a highly customised version of Android from Vivo and offers a host of features.<br /><br />Unlike the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro, the V30 Pro has its fair share of bloatware. This includes applications like Snapchat, PhonePe, Facebook, LinkedIn and others. While these can be uninstalled easily, the V-Appstore, which is the company’s app store also sends notifications randomly.<br /><br />In terms of performance, the Vivo V30 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset coupled with up to 12GB LPDDR5X of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. It is to be noted that the Dimensity 8200 is the same chipset that was used in the V29 Pro.<br /><br />While it is an older chipset, the Dimensity 8200 still offers decent performance and battery efficiency. The chipset, which is coupled with ample RAM and storage can handle multitasking efficiently, without any lag.<br /><br />I played popular titles such as Call of Duty: Mobile and Asphalt 9 on the V30 Pro at high settings and did not notice any stuttering. The device does get slightly hot after an extended gaming session, but it is manageable.<br /><br />The smartphone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support, allowing you to charge the device quickly. The voter turnout was recorded at 71.27 per cent. <ul class="summary-list"><li>The all-new 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona is the brand's first electric muscle car.</li><li>The Charger Daytona will reach dealerships later this year with a starting price of $59,595.</li></ul><p>Dodge revealed new details and pricing for its highly anticipated 2024 Charger <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/dodge-reveals-challenger-demon-170-1025-horsepower-muscle-car-2023-3">electric muscle car</a>.</p><p>The Stellantis subsidiary announced that the <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/photos-dodge-charger-daytona-srt-electric-muscle-car-concept-launched-2022-8">Charger Daytona EV</a> will be available in showrooms by the end of 2023 with two variations: the Daytona R/T and the Daytona Scat Pack.</p><p>"The future of the Dodge brand launches with a two-model 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona two-door lineup that looks, drives, sounds and feels like a Dodge, outperforming the legendary models they replace and delivering the experience the Dodge Brotherhood of Muscle expects," Dodge brand CEO, Matt McAlear, said in a press release.</p><p>The base R/T will have 420 horsepower on tap for a starting price of $59,595, while the Scat Pack will arrive from the factory with 670 electric ponies and a more expensive $73,190. </p><div type="image" title="A visual diagram of the EV battery pack and drive motors from a 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona muscle car." height="1688" width="3000" msid="112411731" hostid="261" sizebytes="169710"></div><p>All EV variants of the Charger will feature a 100.5 kWh battery pack, standard all-wheel drive, and a mechanical limited-slip differential.</p><p>The Daytona R/T is expected to go 317 miles on a single charge, while the Scat Pack should have 260 miles of all-electric range. In other words: fake engine noises. </p><p>While artificial engine sounds ported through a speaker system are quite common these days, Fratzonic takes things to a whole new level.</p><p>The software uses a series of vibration chambers and 600-watt amplifier to mimic the rumble of a traditional V8. That engine will be shared with the Charger's corporate siblings, like the <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/jeep-wagoneer-recon-electric-suv-range-2022-9">Jeep</a> Grand Wagoneer SUV.</p><p>The most powerful Charger variant with the engine is expected to have 550 horsepower.</p><p>All models of the Charger will be made at Stellantis's Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada.</p>

Love is in the air, rose shipments at Bangalore airport went up 14% on V-day

Around 62 per cent of Indians who were surveyed are planning to use the AI chatbot <keyword id="15681942" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="chatgpt" source="Orion">ChatGPT</keyword> to help write their love letters this <keyword id="6426726" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="valentine" source="Orion">Valentine</keyword>'s Day, the highest out of all the countries surveyed, with 73 per cent also using AI to boost their dating profiles, a report showed on Thursday.<br /><br />With ChatGPT starting to infiltrate every aspect of our daily lives, 78 per cent of Indians surveyed were also unable to spot the difference between a love letter written by the AI chatbot and one written by a human, according to the report by cyber-security company McAfee.<br /><br />The vast majority (60 per cent) of Indian respondents preferred a machine-generated love note.<br /><br />The most popular reason given for using AI as a ghost-writer was that it would make the sender feel more confident (59 per cent), others cited lack of time (32 per cent) or lack of inspiration (26 per cent), while 14 per cent said it would just be quicker and easier, believing they would not be found out.<br /><br />However, 57 per cent of respondents said they would be offended if they found out the note they had received was produced by a machine.<br /><br />"With Valentine's Day around the corner, it's important to stay vigilant and use security solutions that can help safeguard your privacy and identity and protect you from clicking on malicious links a scammer might send," said <keyword id="3541923" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="steve-grobman" source="Orion">Steve Grobman</keyword>, <keyword id="16450720" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="mcafee-chief-technology-officer" source="Orion">McAfee Chief Technology Officer</keyword>.<br /><br />"It is easy to drop your guard when chatting to a potential partner but it's important to be on alert if you're asked suspicious requests for money or personal information," Grobman added.<br /><br />With the rise in popularity of artificial intelligence, particularly tools such as ChatGPT that anybody with a web browser can access, the chances of receiving machine-generated information are on the rise.<br /><br />In fact, 76 per cent of Indians admit to being catfished -- which is when somebody pretends to be someone they're not online -- or knowing somebody who has.<br /><br />Additionally, 89 per cent of Indian respondents have engaged in direct conversations with strangers on social media across platforms, compared to 66 per cent globally.<br /><br />"Those looking for love are often more vulnerable to scams, and cyber criminals use that to their advantage, engaging in long, sophisticated attempts to steal from their victims," said the report.<br /><br /><strong>SEE ALSO:<br /><a target="_blank" class="c-link c-message_attachment__title_link" href="https://www.businessinsider.in/stock-market/news/reliance-capital-case-battling-for-higher-value-to-stakeholders-says-iihl/articleshow/97776304.cms">Reliance Capital case: Battling for higher value to stakeholders says IIHL</a><br /></strong><a target="_blank" class="c-link c-message_attachment__title_link" href="https://www.businessinsider.in/finance/banks/news/rate-hikes-will-not-impact-collections-efficiency-of-nbfcs-icra/articleshow/97776942.cms"><strong>Rate hikes will not impact collections efficiency of NBFCs: ICRA</strong></a><br />

This V-day, Indians want ChatGPT to play Cupid & write their love letters

<ul class="summary-list"><li>The rise of "trad wives" on social media may be linked to the rollback of Roe v. Wade.</li><li>Trad wives live by traditional gender roles, often attracting criticism and triggering debates.</li></ul><p>TikTok has a question: Have trad wives gotten more popular since Roe v. Wade was overturned?</p><p>It was posed by Caroline Burke, a writer and media critic, who noted that the popular account Ballerina Farm, fronted by Utah-based mother-of-eight Hannah Neeleman, had gained seven million Instagram followers since 2022.</p><p><a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/supreme-court-abortion-decision-final-ruling-scotus-roe-v-wade-2022-6">The landmark ruling on Roe v. Wade in June</a> of that year rewound nearly 50 years of legalized abortion in the US by allowing states to make their own laws. For many, it felt like a step back in time.</p><p>Burke said she always had an inkling there was a connection, but this stat solidified the theory for her.</p><p>"You cannot tell me that it is accidental, that in the two years where we have lost more reproductive rights than in decades previously, all of these trad wives have been gaining insane traction online," she said in a TikTok posted in January.</p><p>"Does that not blow your mind?"</p> <p>Generally, a trad wife is someone who lives a family life with more traditional gender roles. They are usually stay-at-home moms who spend their days cooking, cleaning, and waiting to greet their partners like a 1950s pin-up housewife.</p><p>These women are largely evangelical Christians or Mormons who put God and the bible at the forefront of their decision to be subservient, or conservative women who herald their lifestyle as idyllic and tranquil.</p><p>Creators including Neeleman, Estee Williams, Gwen the Milkmaid, and Rachel Joy are gaining thousands, sometimes millions of followers for their always-perfect hair and makeup, commitment to baking fresh bread for their husbands, and emphasis on motherhood.</p><p>All of them either created their TikTok accounts or had the majority of their viral moments after June 2022. Neeleman is the largest with 6.9 million on TikTok, and she only had four videos on her account before June 2022, after which her account blew up.</p><p>Nara Smith, the second most popular trad wife account, has gained 2.2 million followers since she set her account up in September 2022.</p><p>Neeleman, Gwen the Milkmaid, Joy, and Smith did not respond to a request by Business Insider for comment. Williams told BI she thinks people are fascinated by traditional wife content because it is "nostalgic," "wholesome, and fulfilling." They are "hungry for traditional values and slower living more than ever."</p><p>"I think a lot of women are waking up from modern feminism and realizing they, too, want a traditional lifestyle," she said. "I do believe the trad wife movement is a big step in the right direction for bringing Christian conservative values into the light, and the United States clearly wants more of it."</p><p>Williams said she's not surprised trad wife content has picked up since Roe v. Wade was overturned.</p><p>"To adhere to traditional values you must believe in the value of life and defending the voiceless and unborn," she said.</p><p>A fantasy for the alt-right</p><p>While on the surface, their content is harmless, critics say trad wives are <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tiktoks-trad-wives-are-pushing-a-conservative-agenda-for-women-2022-11">pushing a conservative agenda</a>, pandering to those who believe <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/manosphere-widening-ideological-gap-between-young-men-women-gender-genz-2024-2">women's rights have gone too far</a>.</p><p>Burke told BI she saw Ballerina Farm blow up after Fox News posted an article about her.</p><p>"Fox News shares countless articles designed to trigger people, but there's a reason why this one struck a nerve," she said.</p><p>"Right at the time that Roe v. Wade was overturned in the US, Fox shares this article about a woman who is happily having her eighth child."</p><p>Neeleman has found herself <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ballerina-farm-controversy-rustic-videos-family-wealth-critique-tiktok-2024-1">as the topic of much discussion</a> in recent months, partly because of the dissonance between her apparent back-to-basics lifestyle, and the enormous wealth of her family — her father-in-law is David Neeleman, the airline entrepreneur who has an estimated net worth of $400 million.</p><p>"There was something about her account and something about her natural beauty and living on a farm and the way in which there was this almost promotion of effortlessness with their family that I think just really infuriated people," Burke said. "And on the other side, I think it really empowered and excited people."</p><p>Tyler Bender, a comedian and commentator, has made a series of TikToks satirizing the trad wife lifestyle.</p><p>She told BI she sees the popularity of trad wives as a pushback on modern feminism, much of which started on Reddit criticizing "blue-haired" childless women and favoring blonde housewives who raise multiple babies and take care of their husbands' every need.</p><p>"It literally is a fantasy for the alt-right," Bender said.</p><p>She describes some of the criticism she gets on her videos as "white-knighting" from those who idealize women following this lifestyle.</p><p>"I'll get comments like, 'Wow, you must be so sad and single because you feel OK judging this woman,'" she said. "These weirdos on the internet feel like they need to protect the one pure kind of woman left."</p><p>The irony, though, is that they're lusting for a time that never really existed, Bender said. Women, throughout history, had some sort of hustle outside their houses, whether their husbands knew or not. They were never these living dolls who catered to their partners and children, keeping themselves and their homes immaculate, with no other pursuits.</p><p>"These people are just emulating the post-war boom of advertising in the 1950s. That's what they're cosplaying," Bender said. "It's so strange to me. You're yearning for something that never existed."</p> <h2>Algorithms play their part</h2><p>A shift toward conservative views and traditional values is only part of the story. The other is how social media algorithms work.</p><p>Apps like TikTok favor controversy because it boosts views. People who strongly agree or disagree on a piece of content are more likely to engage with it, leaving comments, stitching it with their own thoughts, or sharing it with peers.</p><p>"In order for a conflict or for a cultural moment to take place, you can't just have love or hate, you need both," Burke said. "Because you need people having a dialogue."</p><p>Katya Varbanova, a viral marketing expert, told BI TikTok thrives on these debates, and trad wife content gives them just that because it's a very polarizing topic. Roe v. Wade only added to that.</p><p>"If you grew up in a traditional household and it was a happy household, obviously you would hold the belief that that's the way to go," she said. "And vice versa. If you grew up in a non-traditional household that was happy, you believe that. So it creates this dichotomy, a fight between the two."</p><p>There are more than 16,000 TikToks containing the hashtag #tradwife on TikTok, many with millions of views.</p><p>The most viral ones are the most extreme on both sides, Varbanova said, with videos showing the fifties aesthetic full of beautiful aprons and an aspirational life, generating both awe and disgust in the comments.</p><p>Some women find the content hard to watch because they may feel conflicted about their lives and whether they want children, seeing as it's less affordable for many young people now than it used to be. Others simply find it ridiculous, describing some trad wife content of ethereal women floating through life <a target="_blank" href="https://culted.com/wtf-is-lobotomy-core/">as "lobotomy-core."</a></p><p>"I'm always the person that believes neither side is better than the other," Varbanova said. "You get to choose what makes you happy, and no woman should be forced to be a trad wife, and no woman should be forced to not be a trad wife."</p><h2>The fear is that extremism may trickle down</h2><p>Burke said she doesn't believe the end result of trad wife culture is going to be that more progressive women are converted to that lifestyle.</p><p>She's more concerned about the soft power religious institutions may be gaining in the background, with more harmful ideologies about women's role in society and trickling down through messaging about traditional family values, abortion rights included.</p><p>For a long time, rich religious institutions were largely absent from influencing swathes of young people on social media, but now they have an in, disguised in aprons and Bettie Page curls.</p><p>"We're approaching another presidential election and there is such a fracturing in our country," Burke said. "So I'm thinking about, what are these people representing? Who do they have access to?"</p><p>As with everything on the internet, content and anyone can find themselves falling down an increasingly extremist pipeline without realizing it.</p><p>"Everything about how these women behave comes from the indoctrination of their religions," Burke said. "And their religions are way more powerful than we even like to remember."</p>
